Banana Leaf Asian Cuisine

We came here based on the great reviews and were very disappointed to say the least. There were only 3 or 4 tables in the whole place, yet it still took about 15-20 minutes for the server to take our order. We were served the wrong dish...TWICE...and after I told the server my fork had aleady touched the food, he still took the plates of food away and we saw them served a few minutes later to the appropriate table. The Pad Thai was soggy, overly-sauced, heavy on the vinegar and the noodles are not Pad Thai noodles. The Korean noodle dish was served in a pool of soy sauce and the noodles were slimy. We told the server we were not happy with the meals and he took them away and didn't charge us...

My wife and I took some friends from out of town to the Banana Leaf for dinner. I've been looking forward to it for a long time. We had the dinner for four where you get to choose 5 mains and also includes soup, rice and spring rolls. The food was absolutely outstanding! I feel so sorry for J-me C who felt it didn't live up to the hype. This visit was my third and I've never been disappointed yet. Checked this place out based on tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. Don't let the location and outside appearance turn you off - while it doesn't look that great the food inside is pretty awesome.Menu is standard North American Chinese food. That said everything we ordered was very very fresh. The food did not have the typical greasy and "cooked from frozen" taste that unfortunately plagues most Chinese restaurants in Canada.Standout dishes were the black pepper beef as well as the ginger beef.Will definitely return when I am in the area!

Not too difficult to find-tucked away in the corner of strip mall at 44 king street east-Thee reception was very welcoming and professional- The waiter explained the menu questions very well- Restaurant was spotless and had a good atmosphere.Food was very tasty and well priced- the dinner for two was more than enough.Would not hesitate to go back and recommend to others Réservez une table maintenant

We really appreciated the efforts of Tom to put together a quality meal for our family. It's not a "cheaper alternative" but it was a very good experience. The food was great, the service was personal and friendly. We had considered an all-you-can eat buffet nearby but were glad we made this choice.

Went based on the review from TripAdvisor. I was not disappointed! The seafood was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented as we're all of the dishes we received. I definitely will return. The dining room was clean well decorated and quiet and the owner was pleasant

Been here for lunch once and 5 times for dinner. We have never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. Everything was very good. The service however is on the slow side. They've always had 1 person waiting on all the tables.

They are excellent at substituting ingredients if you have food allergies and still making a delicious dish. They are very welcoming and very attentive. Very good value for the food. Réservez une table maintenant

The food is excellent. The favorite dish of the night was shrimp curry. All dishes were great. The service was excellent, very detailed oriented.

Really enjoyed the dishes. Big servings and delicious food. Took the entire family of 12 people and there was something for everyone.
