Went here on a Sunday afternoon and was seated as a party of two with no wait. Service was okay; water was quick to get filled and our orders were taken in a decent amount of time. My issue is this restaurant tries very hard to be chic when it doesn’t really come close to it. Their dress code is enforced when they feel like it and we were originally turned away for wearing a tank top while someone else walked right past us with one. Horrible treatment. Our family of five was staying in Newport Beach for vacation. We went to Bandera one night for dinner and were denied entry/a table because two of our boys were wearing (dry and clean swim trunks. Not that it mattered but these are expensive trunks that boys in Charleston wear as regular, everyday shorts. I digress. I had on a tank top and nice skirt, my husband a polo and dress shorts. Had a very uncomfortable experience at Bandera. I was not planning to go there again after I got food poisoning there during Covid but we were planning to be in the area so we made a reservation. We arrived early but were told by the hostess that they would not honor our reservation because they couldn’t seat our small child at the table. They said a suitable table would take 1.5 hours. I tried calling earlier but they do not have a phone, hostess glued to iPad. Absolutely love this restaurante! The food, the service, the vibes are on point. I got the Bandera-Style Roasted Chicken and it was delicious! So much food, can easily split or take home left overs. Had a late reservation but came early and was able to sit at the bar and have full service dinner. Enjoyed a lovely Crisp Martini too. Can’t wait to go back!

Juicy chicken with great flavor, prompt, efficient service, helpful staff. Drinks are well balanced and generous. Salads were very fresh. A great overall restaurant. Often very busy, so check ahead.
The best beef ribs on CA. I'll fight people on that one. I wish they had fountain soda instead of cans but we can't win it all can we. Also don't forget to get the corn bread bites!
