This is the hole in the wall that was Noodle box, so it sits about 20 people. Decor does not seem to have changed much. Ordered some bao and a ramen. Bao were pillowy soft and all were delicious, we had the Taiwanese pork belly, pork meatball banh mi, and a black bean. Unless you are a bird, 3 bao are unlikely to fill you up and, and $12 for 3, things could get expensive. However, the ramen was big enough for two to share. Noodles were delicious, with a slight chew to them. Broth was rich and flavorful with a roasted, caramelised, and perhaps slightly burnt chilli flavor. The tofu is the only one I have ever had that I liked (I hate tofu). Absolutely exceptional. When we mentioned my wife wa...

I must admit, I don't understand all the excitement surrounding this restaurant. We had to wait a long time for a table on both occasions we visited, even though there were only two of us. We had to settle for an early dinner at 5pm just to be seated. I ordered the bibimbap and my husband had the ramen, and we also tried the bao. While the food was decent, it lacked authenticity. The bao was drenched in sauce and too salty, turning soggy. The bibimbap was lacking in flavor. The service was average, possibly due to being short-staffed.

I was in Victoria for business and stumbled across Bao while in Chinatown looking for a place for dinner that I haven't been to before. The menu looked tempting so I went in and ordered. Both guys working there were very laid back and friendly. My food arrived quickly and was quite delicious. Not 100℅ authentic but to be expected when having Asian food in Victoria as there is a lot of fusion style there.Overall it was tasty, convenient, and not overly priced.I will certainly go back again to Bao during my next visit to Victoria.

Good service and great food. More of a fusion type of place, but the buns are similar to what you might find in certain taiwanese night markets. The buttermilk fried chicken bun and pork belly were very good. I shared a bowl of ramen and it too was very tasty. Only downside a little bit is the price, as it can be a bit on the pricier side, but the food is very good. I will be coming back again.

They have a very veg-friendly menu. I tried the mushroom bao, black bean bao, and the veg version of the tan tan soup noodles. The bao bread is fresh and pillowy, really well yummy as well as the toppings themselves with each ingredient prepared toperfection. The tan tan had just enough heat was hardy with a generous amount of baked tofu and a delicious seasoned egg.

These Korean tacos are heavenly pillows of goodness stuffed with fresh and tasty combinations. My favourite was the buttermilk fried chicken with a kimchi slaw and scallions. They also feature noodles and other dishes. Definitely worth the visit and tucked away in the original noodle box location.

I ordered a vegetarian ramen bowl and a mushroom bao and could not get through most of the ramen bowl. But it was so delicious! I wish they would get their liquor license to allow alcohol in their tiny outdoor patio, but we were still quite content.

The best noodle dish I have had based on the flavourful combinations. A must try if you are in Victoria. Highly recommend the Pork Belly Spot Prawn Ramen. My girlfriend enjoyed the Korean Fried Chicken bowl with rice. Just the right amount of spice.

Nicely presented and absolutely delicious meals. I highly recommend Bao. I look forward to going back when I'm in Victoria again.
