my experience was easy. we've never even taken a spot. first, we and two other parties were urged to enter, waiting for about 12 people who were close and uncomfortable, as we waited patrons. I paid her bill, and the double entry line waited for the customers to pay their bill, which seemed inefficient, but not a big thing after we went into the cellar of this building, we were simply underwhelmed in decades and the overall condition of the restaurant did not update. that was not a deal breaker in itself. Finally we were accompanied on a surface with the marked waiting area, which was different and quite within few minutes we were greeted and were accompanied on our table. when we approached...
My family booked a table on September 4, 2019 for a birthday. As we were a larger party we were split between two different chefs. The one chef was excellent, however the other chef that we had was quite rude and inappropriate to my boyfriend...and I as well as the other guest. He was making sexual comments towards my boyfriend and I while my parents and family were sitting close by. This made all of us at the table extremely uncomfortable. We are normally huge fans of your restaurant, however this time we were unsatisfied with the chef and it left a horrible impression. We realize you are very busy as well as popular and this probably doesn’t normally happen but for future customers we hope...
For the uninitiated, this restaurant seats you at a table wit 8 places that surrounds a grill on which your meal is prepared by the chef. All meals are prepared at the same time, so seating all happens at the same time. In our case...we were a couple, but we were seated with a family of 6 with young children. The food was incredible, the Chef was amazing, but our experience was ruined by having to endure the young children at our table. My advice would be to either go in a large group to have some control over your table partners, or perhaps take steps to avoid our sort of seating arrangement with the staff.
we were here for a family-eating 8 of us overall. I was often here and I was very disappointed at my experience this time. very slow service was my reservation for 630 and I got no service until 730. sat in. table without drinks or service for 1 hour. then finally someone takes drinks to order and brings back drinks to sit on the table for another 10 minutes. the chef seemed calm for a long time and was barely at the table in comparison to usual. we make an annual eat there, I feel like next year looking good elsewhere. this type of money for a meal that I expect from service.
The decor and overall feel was outdated, uncomfortable and smelt unpleasant. The food was underwhelming, small portions, basic food that I could have very well prepared at home. Fine dining prices without the dining dining food experience. Everything was so salty and oily, the taste will...linger in your mouth until morning. Hopefully you get lucky and have an entertaining chef, ours was awkward and seemed like he just didn't want to be there. Unfortunately I will not be back. My first and last time. Save your money and cook at home or spend it on actual quality fine dining.
extremely run down, POOR aeration, very smokey and greasy from the teppanyaki. the big dame bank? is extremely rude. it is finer food price for high quality food, ambiente and experience. the secret sauce is only full of mosg and salt to cover the taste of her gland food. in any case, would not recommend if they are in victoria to support much better joints. all in our party regret to go. bad service and experience, will never return again.
Had lunch there today with a friend. Had Teriyaki chicken and Yaki Yaki shrimp. Both of us had very dry chicken and over cooked shrimp. Very disappointed. Used to really enjoy coming here. Told the owner when paying the bill about our experience and his...reply was Sorry . That's it. Won't be recommending this place any more. Neither will we be returning. Too bad.
We were 2 couples 3 of us had the NY strip steak and the other had the shrimp dish. All the food was great I asked for a side of teriyaki sauce but the sesame sauce was great too. The service was ok communicating with...the server was hard and she forgot my hot sauce. The chef was hilarious and he cooked everything to perfection.
