"was here earlier and had decent meal times, but today was a bit left in. the dusty tinten fish was very chewing and disappointing, although the roasted garlauchaioli was beautiful. the Burrata Chapel was much better and generous."

The once bland trek down to Central Station (before Reuben Hills and Chur Burger arrived) now has a new dining destination. This one is all about the charcuterie plates and espresso martini’s before heading home. Bar Surry Hills isn’t exactly a new kid on the block, once known as Sebel Surry Hills – Townhouse, they have undergone a complete revamp. If you googled Bar Surry Hills and Italian Kitchen two weeks ago, you’d either get a repetitive list of bars in Surry Hills or a smattering of restaurants serving the region’s food. That could mean one of two things: a) Google got it wrong, or b) another bar/restaurant has just opened in Sydney’s busiest ‘burb and it hasn’t been picked up in the ‘net’ yet.

Was the visit as good as the first Bar Surry Hills and Italian Kitchen?I attended a relaunch of the Bar Surry Hills and Italian Kitchen about a year ago. At the launch the food was great, the atmosphere was buzzing and staff were friendly. I came back for a quick drink and snack to see if much has changed since I attended the launch.

to stay at rydges, this restaurant has used several times. great pizzas and pommes. faster service so nothing to complain about. in the second night we were a party of four. a glass was accidentally knocked by a friend. that was immediately resolved. for the price, I would say that eating is good. it is good, but not unforgettable.
