Very strange service in here. Waiter was actively rude and obnoxious and had an energy about him that was like he was on a certain powder beginning with a C. An example: I ordered a pastis, usually served with water, he refused to bring the water and criticised me for ordering the drink how it should be served. Apparently o don’t know anything about pastis according to him or how to drink it. He then went on a ramble about how pastis absinthe is made for about 5 minutes and about how he recognised her from the northern line. Me and my girlfriend were unsettled by him. I have never been anywhere and been treated and felt so insulted in all my years of cocktail bars. This waiters name is Alexandra, and is quite clearly French as he pointed out many times during our service. He has absolutely zero patience my husband and I were asking Q’s on the cocktail menu and the waiter (Alex) was so condescending and patronising. I was just asking about the amount of ice in the cocktail and was shot down with utter rudeness like I was from another Planet. He literately said to me ‘have you not been to a cocktail bar before?!?’ He was rushing us to order even though there was no queue. instead of speaking in a polite and calming way, he bashed the bar table multiple time...
We had a reservation at a nearby restaurant for dinner, so we stopped by for a drink beforehand. The waiter quickly noticed us in the busy crowd and provided efficient and friendly service. The atmosphere was lively with music and people playing boules. There were customers of all ages enjoying themselves.
I went to Baranis as part of a team-building event with my coworkers. We were given written instructions to play pétanque, and the bar staff took our drink orders promptly. The game was fun and the cocktails were fantastic. I had a great time at the bar and would definitely go back again.

Took a visit with friends for a birthday drink or two. Great venue with open brick charm and art on the wall. A well stocked bar and knowledgeable able staff that can make drinks whether they are on the menu or not. Great little find that we will definitely return to.
This restaurant was a great find and we were happy that we didn't encounter Alex, which was a relief. Despite being worried about the reviews, I can now confidently say that it is safe to visit this place.
