I grew up in Montclair. That sentence has weirdly become a snobby brag over the years, but hear me out. In the 90s and the 00s, Montclair wasn't known for its restaurants. We were known for gentrification and those giant houses (one of which was owned by superstar Olivia Dukakis! . Now we're known for even more gentrification AND the food-eating-scene (poor Olivia Dukakis . Anyhoo, you have too many choices to eat in Montclair. So, where should you get a burger? Bareburger, duh. I LOVE the Impossible burger (gout changes a man and there are SO many options! The service is delightful and always helpful. I placed an order for 4 burgers with fries on a side. Food was delivered called and with no sauces. One burger missed tomatoes, lettuce and pickles. I called the place and the girl who answered transferred me to the manager. Right away she said that she can’t help, and if my food was delivered cold and without sauces it’s just a delivery issue. I asked for her name and she said she is not obligated to tell me her name, she doesn’t feel like I should know her name. And she hanged up on me. I will never go back to this place, poor customer service. October 28th. Order number 190.
I swear at the Kale and Wildreispatty with a envelope. (But order the My Sunshine Burger and replace the Be My Burger process. It costs less. Unfortunately, the carrot cake (and the chocolate cake I really liked is no longer vegan. I found out yesterday after the order. Bareburger menu points change too often. They seemed to be vegan for a while, but then reversed course. Unhappy. Also delivery is by door Dash and costs $5. Add this at already high prices and a tip, and it can cost considerably more than better local vegan options.
I’ve ordered before and it’s been good. But this is the salad I ordered today I don’t understand how they can let this type of lettuce go out the door who would eat this? They also added tomato to sandwich when I specifically asked it to be left out due to allergies. After 15 minutes of looking for parking, this is what I got. The manager didn’t even apologize when I called, she just said i’ve seen other salads today and they were fine. Not this one!
This place is great. The staff is friendly, the food is great, and I love the variety. Tonight, there was an issue with my burger. I received a text about reviewing it, so I did so, telling about the mix up. The manager called me immediately and offered to make it right, which was awesome of her. The mix up wasn’t going to stop me from returning, but I’m definitely going back more frequently now.
It is a good place to eat with vegan options if you want a burger. The fries are great, but the burger leaves something to be desired. The carrot cake is too sweet and so are the milk shakes. Also much overpriced for the quality of food. It is more a place to eat occasionally, but not the best vegan food in the area.
