This restaurant is a relaxing and classic bar with a understated atmosphere, making it a great place to meet up with friends. They offer an excellent selection of wines from various regions as well as beers from around the world. The service is top-notch and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Despite being small, it is a popular spot with room for guests to sit and enjoy their time. I personally enjoy their charcuterie board, but they also offer other simple options that others seem to enjoy. I haven't had the opportunity to visit this restaurant in person as I am currently in the US, but my brother resides in Yarraville. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we have not been able to see each other for the past 2 years. Today is his 40th birthday and I wanted to do something special for him. Barkley Johnson went above and beyond to assist me by creating a special birthday gift basket and personally delivering it to my brother on his special day. They are kind and friendly people, and I look forward to visiting them in person one day for a glass of wine. In the meantime, I encourage all locals to go and have a drink on my behalf.
yarraville is just 25 minutes from home, just 20 km away. I do not remember ever coming to yarraville and if so, certainly not in the last 40 years. So we went to dinner tonight and we went early to see. in shops, bars, etc. when we were almost 2 hours early for dinner, we looked around and found a bar. it was barkley johnson. this place was good. well-stocked regale (not that we bought something) and a good wine and cocktail selection. we sat on a stock and had a big talk with a local resident. the personal was also friendly. all in all, a good place.
This is my favourite wine bar in Melbourne. The place is very intimate, great for a romantic date night, soft lighting, chill background music. The staff are knowledgeable, unpretentious and so friendly, it feels like you're walking into your friends bar! They specialise in old world wine with a few Aussie labels thrown in there too. I'll be back to try the delicious looking cheese and cold meat platter and for more great times. 5 stars! Réservez une table maintenant
this wine bar/café is the overestimated and worst food in melbourne that I ever encountered, irritated, surly staff, eating is atrocious and rough overpriced, the toilet stinks and is dirty, but most atem was surprise when a member of the kitchen was...weaking after the use of the wc leave to wash its hands undisturbed but back never again there is much better, cleaner restaurants in the same street.
