I am a bit reluctant to share my review of this place, as I fear that once it becomes popular, I won't be able to get a table anymore. But, for the sake of sharing, here is my 5-star review of Barrio Chino. The soup was so good that even someone who typically doesn't like soup claimed it was the best they had ever tasted. Personally, I thought it was one of the best Tex-Mex style soups I have ever had. The tacos made us nostalgic for our time in the US. We tried most of the taco menu and found them all to be excellent, with quality tortillas and delicious sauces. We agreed that these little tacos were better than any we had ever eaten before. the ambiente is beautiful, but the service is so poor. they advertise as late at night with hours of operation at the door and in the internet, and we booked a reservation of 10pm (they close at midnight.) when we arrived, they said that they have closed the kitchen before a da and waited only until 10 o'clock to shut the restaurant, then they drove away to close the door guests to tell us we even said we had only one drink and they said they had already turned off drinks menus, but could accept an order. we're politely gone. they save their taxi fair and go somewhere else.
I really enjoy the food at this restaurant. They offer set menu options starting at $25 (with options for $35 and $45 per person) depending on what you want to include. We have hosted many group dinners here and they can easily accommodate a larger group of 10-12 if you make a reservation in advance. One downside is that it can be difficult to hear because of the noise level. The bar area can get crowded, contributing to the overall noisy atmosphere.
The staff at this restaurant are fantastic and very helpful! Unfortunately, the ATM inside was not working, which seems to be a recurring issue. The prices for drinks are reasonable and the outdoor seating area is delightful. You can enjoy the Sydney nightlife and ambiance while enjoying a Martini and listening to great music. This bar is located in Kings Cross, right in the heart of Sydney, so the best way to get here is by taxi or bus.

Came on a Sunday during an event so the place was buzzing with energy. Lovely crowd and the place is beautifully decorated. There was a bit of a queue at the bar but then again that was understandable since I went during an event, so I suspect that wont be the case on a normal day. The food was delicious with a large variety of mexican dishes and the prices were good. Definitely visiting this place again!
Great food, we had the mid range set menu and it had a lot of small portions that added up to a massive meal. They told me they're closing/transforming into a burger bar in the near future which is unfortunate. It's be good to double check if you're planning on going there for dinner I'd be thrilled if they change their minds, I think the lockout rules have had a significant business impact.
Went there for a fashion launch event and the vibe was cool. I've passed by it several times but have never really stepped food into it. When I finally did, it was different from what I had imagined it to be, but still enjoyable nonetheless. This place is well known for its upmarket-goers, and the people who frequent this place are usually part of the fashion scene (or semi celebrities).
Margaritas with Mexican tequila the best in Sydney. The place is amazing and I always end up having a great time. Maybe it's because of the Margaritas but the spot is perfect for any kind of gathering from small meet ups to large events.
