I decided to go to the restaurant while they prepared my food. When I arrived, I found one of the staff answering the phone while wearing the same gloves he used to handle my hoagie. Then, to make matters worse, I watched him prepare a chicken parmesan sandwich without changing gloves afterward. He took the chicken out of its roll, placed it on the same counter where he had just made my hoagies, and added provolone cheese before putting everything back into the roll.
The place was disorganized and understaffed. After witnessing all this, I seriously questioned the hygiene of the food. I felt uneasy and worried that I might get sick from eating there.

We visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday for a work dinner. It had the typical steak shop vibe, and the staff were familiar with the regulars, which added to the atmosphere. I decided to try the regular-sized chicken cheesesteak hoagie (fried and uncrushed) with American cheese and mayo. The chicken was cut more like a steak than the usual chicken strips, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The portion was perfect, and I finished everything on my plate. I highly recommend checking it out. If I find myself back in the area, I would definitely order it again!
Everyone has their own opinion on where to find the best steak sandwich, but I can confidently say that their Cheesesteak with Cooper Sharp cheese is the best I've ever had— and I've tried quite a few! I can't even consider getting a cheesesteak anywhere else. The sides are also fantastic, from the fries to the corn nuggets. The staff is incredibly friendly, making for a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, you'll be glad you chose to support this local gem in Philly!
"Barry’s Cheese Steaks is a place I’ve been enjoying for 20 years. The Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak is incredible, and the Chicken Cheese Steak Hoagie is fantastic. Their classic Cheese Steak is outstanding too. I highly recommend the Steak Fries, curly fries, and onion rings – they’re all amazing! Plus, their delivery service is the best in the city; it’s always hot and fresh. I really miss this place!"

Outstanding dinner tonight. After a neighbor recommended trying this place we were sold. We got a cheesesteak, southwest turkey hoagie and some sort of fried broccoli with cheese. So many great flavors. The bread was also fresh and chewy. Prices were normal. Glad I got the normal size so I have some extra to eat tomorrow.
I visited Philadelphia for business for the first time and was craving an authentic cheesesteak. Barry's did not let me down! The hoagie was fantastic, and the curly fries were incredibly tasty. The portions were huge!
Barry 's is my favorite cheesesteak in the neighborhood! Super quick delivery, great staff consistently delicious food...my go to is The Coop and a side of curly cheese fries.
The best in the business...hands down! The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the food is always ready super fast whether eating in or when delivered to my house!
