Went today to have breakfast as soon as we entered it was a pleasure. We sat outside because the sun was shining in the beautiful courtyard. We were greeted by a beautiful smile from the lady who served us and I am sorry I did not get her name (but she returned from maternity leave) given our menus and ordered the latte with lactose milk. We ordered the vegetarian breakfast and the big breakfast. It was the best breakfast we have ever had. The presentation and taste was outstanding. We definitely will go again and recommend it to anyone that you must go and enjoy this beautiful gem of a restaurant in frankston.
The food is decent but not remarkable. I ordered the falafel vegetarian platter; while the falafel looked store-bought, they still tasted good (though I could be mistaken about their origin), and the salad was fresh. My tea was served in a coffee plunger—I'm not sure if that's a Mediterranean thing or not, but it was a bit unusual. Our large, lively group had a fun lunch, and most enjoyed their meals, except for one person who found the grilled chicken fillet tough and dry. The waitstaff communicated well regarding a delay for someone who ordered gluten-free. Overall, the service was good.
The service was absolutely awful. The staff was unfriendly, sighed, rolled their eyes, and was outright rude when we made requests. They simply dropped the drinks on our table and expected us to distribute them to our group of ten. It was obvious that the staff didn’t want to be there, which ruined the experience. Coupled with mediocre food, we won’t be returning, which is disappointing since we’re locals. It seems like the positive reviews must be outdated, as they don’t reflect the current state of the restaurant at all.
Fantastic set-up much larger than it looks from the outside, we have been, for both breakfast and lunch with everyone's meals being excellent and on the larger than smaller size especially breakfast. All of our drinks were great from milkshake, tea coffee, the staff were fantastic and under the pump as it was busy with drinks meals coming out in around 5-10 for drinks, 15min for meals. Beach 162 is an Australian restaurant offering delicious food options in a unique and aesthetic venue. When we visited, we tried their wood fire pizza and barramundi, which tasted great but were a little pricey for the portion. Their staff were also wonderful as one of them went above and beyond to take great group photos for us when requested.
