I grew up in Pennant Hills in the 70s and 80s.Some of my happiest dining in and takeaway memories were of Belmontes. So, I finally decided to give it a try once more, once we moved back into the area.I should have been alerted by how quiet it was, given that all my childhood memories were of this place being busy, bustling and buzzing.The first thing I was eager to try was the cheese garlic bread pull apart - hand-made from pizza dough, stuffed with garlic butter and cheese before going into the oven. It was tasty - just as delicious as I remembered it!But that's where the nostalgia ended.The pizza was very ordinary, and took quite a while to arrive, despite us being the only seated customer...
I have lived in the area since 1970 and have patronised B's with different proprietors. Pizza in the early days was fantastic and pretty good generally over the years. Tonight the boss put a sprinkle of olive oil on the freshly baked pizza straight out of the oven. Ok I thought...then the young female offsider was obviously unimpressed, so then drowned it with more. It didn't happen last time, so what's going on there? Place was suspiciously vacant - not like the old days.....will now need a few suggestions for good pizza at Penno. What a pity....soggy pizza is not my thing. Have had good pizza in Italy and throughout Europe and even in Shanghai - B's was as good as any of them until tonight...
Have passed this restaurant a thousand times and finally had a chance to call in and try the place. Eclectic decor with a mixture of movie stars and railways which works quite well. Right by Pennant Hills station which explains the railway reference. Ordered a basic margherita and a Black Tiger prawn pizza. Bother were very good.PLenty of room downstairs and I believe there is seating available upstairs as well.
Ive been here many times over the years. Back when Tony was running it, the Pizzas were massive. It was an event. Tony would entertain the crowd whilst making a delicious Pizza. These days, the Pizza standards have dropped. The Pizza is OK but there are better options that are cheaper. No issues with service though. Bit expensive for what you get..

Picked up two take-away pizzas and one had a charcoal base. It was so burnt it was unedible. I rang to complain and they said they would make a replacement pizza for me. It's a 30 minute round trip so I asked for a discount for the inconvenience but they refused. The pizzas are overpriced and nothing special. Won't be going back.
Each time we go, we come back full and satisfied saying we should really make better use of this being on our doorstep.Although it's just a little more expensive than the fast food franchise options these are good sized pizzas with fresh toppings that don't leave you (and your teenagers) hungry.
Advertised as open to 11:59 pm but on arriving at 10 pm place was shut. Fix your hours so people don't waste thier time getting there for nothing. What about a phone number so we can ring and check. This is from customers going back 30 plus years.
Not a bad pizza though the $25 minimum credit card charge wont see me hurrying back there. Extra excercise to go to the ATM helps i guess but you could have told me on the phone.

We get takeaway from Belmonte's often. Never disappoints. Good selection of pizza options, great flavours.
