To start, the oysters were fresh, flavorful, and incredibly meaty. You could tell they had just been shucked. Choosing my fish was a challenge, as the display was filled with an array of fresh fillets—none of the frozen options you often find at other fish and chip shops. The batter on the flathead was spot-on, and the fish itself was sweet and succulent.
But the chips? They were absolutely the best I've had anywhere. I would drive four hours just for these chips. They were thick-cut with a perfectly crispy, golden outer layer that made every bite a delight.
I can't recommend this place enough. I will definitely be returning, and I can't wait to bring my friends and family along!
Loved the battered fish, tassie scallops and calamari. The batter wasn't too heavy and didn't hold oil like other places. Everything including their home made tartare sauce was delicious, however, the gravy was not good. Best battered fish and chips I've had in a while. Reasonably priced and the gentleman who served me (perhaps the owner) was very friendly. There's a great little outdoor park and huge grass area where you can dine/picnic very family friendly.
the best fish and scallops I had for a long time. the teig was light and crispy. very tasty. we also order oysters a big size and $12 a dozen. very fresh. is definitely recommended. make them ready to shorten, but not for long. again a second time great sat and the personal is so ready to help. I'm always buying flocks, but perch melted it in my mouth. Thank you.
Can I have some fish and potato scallops with that burnt batter next time please?!?! Oh and the lemon we asked for and paid for that was not included. No salt on anything, bland rubbish! I hardly doubt it was due to the staff shortage. There won't be a next time though ... really disappointed as this place was recommended

I thoroughly enjoyed my takeaway flathead and chips yesterday afternoon. The batter was perfectly crispy, and the fish was very fresh. The chips were excellent, and the meal wasn't greasy at all. The portion size was generous, and there was plenty of fresh lemon. Yes, I’ll definitely be going back to Bernys today!
The seafood basket was priced at $16.50 and earned a rating of 4 out of 5. The fish and chips cost $10 and received a 3 out of 5. The tartare sauce was an additional $2, while the potato cake was $1.50, but only scored a 2 out of 5. Plus, there was no surcharge for public holidays.

I put a big contract with advance notice in a last holiday after batemans bay. they had no flocks, only offered fried dim sims (not damped) and the chips were pushed and seemed overboiled or a few days old. I don't know why this place has a relatiw big call.

Only tried this once but the fish n chips were very tasty, not too salty or oily and the fish was cooked perfectly. Would definitely come back next time I’m in town
I've eaten here twice. Possibly the best fish and chips I've eaten. Totally worth a detour. Much better than what's on offer in Bateman's Bay. I'll be back.
