We were seated quickly, menu size was reasonable, menu items had nothing quirky. Atmosphere was lively and felt welcoming with many families and middle aged people having a long weekend brunch. This cafe is the OG breakfast brunch spot in Sydney. Can't count how many times I've been here but it's been quite good for the most part. Even the dinner menu is delicious also.
One thing to note, I ordered the fresh Aussie and it comes with kale, it had a bug in it and I asked them to change it: they did but the kale still had a bug.... so worrying. I couldn't be bothered to complain again so I just left it.
Surprisingly, the staff still charged me for my original dish. Would have thought the coffees would be complementary
We had an enjoyable dinner here this evening. The service was great and very attentive.The good was very nice also. Definitely recommend the Korean fried Chicken and the yellow curry fish. The ingredients were all nice and fresh and the flavours spot on. We had the pork belly too - nice but I would be going something else next time.Even though they had a couple of big orders going through the kitchen food arrived quickly.

We were a group of 5 ,the staff were fantastic but the food definitely let the team down .I ordered a medium cooked Sirloin steak that was so over cooked ,I did complain and they said they would take it from the bill but seeing I was a guest I dont know if that happened .The pavlova desert and cocktails were good but the restaurant is certainly over rated
Breakfasted here yesterday. Lovely surrounds and atmosphere. Two of us ordered poached eggs and cumin tomatoes. The tomatoes were delicious but cold and all poached eggs were HARD with both breakfasts. Come one Bills, you can do better than that. Don't expect this quality of cooking with a restaurant of your reputation. DISAPPOINTED!
Keeping up with food fashion keeps the crowds coming in the door, as Bills does well at with an interesting menu. The crowds are good for Bills, but tends to mean some extended waiting for you, with a premium on getting seated at busy times. Is it worth it? Yes, it certainly is...
Food was excellent, came with a large group of 16 and everyone's meal was spot on. Had the steak which was cooked perfectly with very tasty BBQ jam. Highly recommend. Not a cheap meal but worth it.

The best ricotta pancakes by far in sydney! Bills at Surry hills is our favourite. Modern space and it's not to over crowded. We had the ricotta pancakes with the macadamia spiced chai. ????????
I absolutely love Bill Granger's no-fuss approach on food. I have still yet to find a place which beats the fluffy ricotta hotcakes here. The cafe’s legendary breakfasts are still talk of town!
