I've been a regular at this restaurant for years, but today I found a hair in my sandwich, and my partner's sandwich had one too! I called to speak with a manager, and he mentioned that the staff wears hairnets. That's just unacceptable and really disappointing. I plan to report this to the health inspectors, and I advise others to steer clear of Bi Rite as well.
Bi-rite Market features beautiful, well-organized displays and a clean environment. This charming market offers a great variety of salads, dishes, meats, locally sourced fruits and vegetables, wines, breads, and more. It's an excellent choice for takeout, especially if you want to enjoy a lunch break at nearby Mission Dolores Park, just a short walk away.
Everything is always fresh, from the produce to the meat. I absolutely love it! It can be a bit on the expensive side, but it's often worth it depending on your preferences and needs. This is my favorite spot for cara oranges and yellow watermelons. Even the corned beef during St. Patrick’s season is delicious.

Although the produce is of excellent quality, the plant-based options are quite limited, and the open display (and smell) of meat can make it an uneasy environment for people from diverse cultural backgrounds. As a result, the clientele tends to be fairly homogeneous.
Treat yourself to a veggie sandwich, a cookie, and a fancy seltzer, and enjoy them in Dolores Park. This market is lovely, and the quality of the food is exceptional. Ordering online is a breeze, and pickup times are quick. It’s all so delicious! I absolutely love it.
The cheese, wine, and bread are all excellent and reasonably priced for artisanal products. However, the produce I've sampled, such as figs and green gage plums, feels overpriced and was neither very good nor ripe. Réservez une table maintenant
I really love BiRite! I just wish their prices weren't so high. Everything is incredibly expensive, which is hard to understand. However, it’s adorable, conveniently located, and the food is delicious!
