Service terrible. Waited about 15 min for hostess to give us menus. Flagged her down and she was oddly surprised when we asked for menus. We waited another 20 min for server to take our order. And almost an hour for the food to arrive but the restaurant was not crowded. We had to flag the server and hostess down to refill waters and get bill. We didn't order dessert because we didn't want to wait another 40 min! Food mediocre. Mussels.. I could not finish it because some of them were fishy so I lost my appetite. The mussels were tiny. I'm used to the bigger fleshy Carslbad ca ones. Broth was lukewarm and too salty. Not flavorful. Pate pass. It was on tough side. Hard to cut through. Filet mi...

I have never been here. It was my moms birthday on Sep. 27 and I wanted to take her somewhere different. After a quick search, I found this gem. I looked at the menu online and there wasn't an item my mom wouldn't like. We showed up and wow the place is gorgeous. Lovely atmosphere! To start, we had the French onion soup and chicken pâté Both were delicious. Entrees; NY special, Filet Mignon, and a burger. All 3 were amazing but.... The burger.... Oh my lord... I don't know what the chef did but we were all in awe... the best burger I've ever had in my life! We were astonished by this burger and the amazing flavor ! For dessert, we had crème brûlée and the apple tart What a great way to end t...

I love french onion soup and get it everywhere I go. I specifically tried this place because there were so many good yelp reviews about the onion soup. I really don't understand why there are good reviews, it tasted nothing like French onion soup. It was thick more creamy and lost the onion flavor and instead took on a whole different flavor that was not enjoyable to me. It also didn't look like one of the yelp pic (the one with the cheese all over) Instead it just had a small amount of cheese on the bread and not any else and I couldn't even taste the cheese it had no flavor. I don't like giving bad reviews and only said something to warn people if you're expecting a traditional French onio... Réservez une table maintenant
Bistro de la Gare provided a delightful escape into the charm of classic French dining. Nestled conveniently near the train station, this bistro offers both locals and travelers a taste of authentic French cuisine. The ambiance, reminiscent of early 20th-century Paris, pairs beautifully with their expertly curated menu. From the escargot, which melted in my mouth, to the perfectly-seared duck confit, every dish was a testament to the chef's expertise. The attentive staff ensured a memorable experience. I'd highly recommend stopping by for a taste of France, whether you're just passing through or seeking a regular spot for your dining pleasure.
After reading the amazing reviewing on yelp we decided to try this bistro in a quiet and charming neighborhood. Appetizer 3 stars chicken pate generous portion with great taste! Escargot good sauce but the meat was on the smaller side. Main course 2.5 stars mussels besides sandy, the sizes of meat were as small as the escargots. I am not kidding! Confit duck leg one bite into the duck and i could taste the stale oil. I did not eat the duck and only fed on the beans and potatoes. I really like the location, service and the ambiance of the restaurant but it did not make up the below average main courses.
I went here in July for a b day dinner with 6 people. The food was pretty good and the wine list was extensive. I felt the service was meh and the dinner cost 600.00 which I thought was insane and my friend brought her our own wine. I should of done the math in advance. I do love the vibe and the area but really over priced.
A quaint spot in South Pasadena, that is a great little place that has been around since I can remember., food is good and the atmosphere is great! If your in the area spot in and grab a bit it will be worth it trust me you won't be disappointed and will be looking forward to coming back again and again. Réservez une table maintenant
