Had a nice breakfast with a friend. It was our first time at this diner, since they opened. The ambiance was so friendly and cozy, super cute decorations of bears and cabin pictures...We were greeted by the cashier and sat us immediately. Our server brought us fresh brewed coffee. Food came out pretty fast after ordering. My friend had the veggie omelette with fruit and French toast, I had the hearty original breakfast bowl it was so delicious and big portions; took the rest home ... service was great too, our server was attentive and super nice thanks Emily for your great service!
We had to wait just a couple of minutes to be seated. Our server was nice, took our drink order and then a different server took our food order. Everyone was happy with their food. I had the meatloaf, husband (birthday boy), son-in-law both had steak dinner, granddaughter had a beary pancake, and our daughter had eggs Benedict. We got the birthday boy a scrumptious banana cream pie. It was empty and quiet when we arrived but getting busy when we left.
I've been to a couple black bear diners, this one is by far the worst. Portions were very small. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, I had to pay extra for gravy cause they barely put any on there. The waitress wasn't on point either so it kinda makes everything even worse. I'll give them another try in the future, hopefully I have a better experience.
If you don’t mind the drive PLEASE head over to their Torrance location. The staff is welcoming and friendly unlike this one. Waitress initially took our order to the wrong table, once the plates made it over to our table pointed out we had ordered hash browns and not fruit and of course that promoted and eye roll accompanied by a sigh.

Came for the breakfast and the large portions. Great value for price. Service is efficient and polite. There is plenty to choose from on the menu. Could be a wait depending on what time you show up. Ordered and food came out in due time as ordered. Leaving ad settling the check is easy. Plenty of parking outside. A good choice.

Our waitress Emily had a difficult encounter with a customer before us, yet still managed to handle us gracefully. The food orders were wrong, but Emily made sure to get everything fixed and gifted us dessert for the inconvenience. The hostess and manager were very willing to help too. Left full and happy. Thank you again!
The food is good and the service is always great. If you don't have a large group I suggest sitting at the bar, the service is fast and you avoid the waitlist. Overall good breakfast spot.

Fun diner with lots of choices, fast service and good quantities. I wouldn't say it was amazing food, but good and at good prices.
