Blackies By The Sea

An iconic local bar in Newport, with views and sand and surfing of NB. Surfing here since I was a hain and came to this diving bar for decades! It's dark and some call it a dive, I call it home. Large flat-screen TV overlooking the bar, 20 beers on tap, crazy good cocktails and the kindness bartenders, I think of a dozen bar tools overlooking the bar and a few tables. Two pool tables in the back area. Eating? I think sprinkling and picky eggs for appetizers. Come in and take a historic Newport Beach iconic tavern. Oh and they have a live webcam on their website with up to the second surf!!

It hates to add this at the level of preservation of local treasures, but a great place to become part of local history as well as drink at a real bar. Please come, leave social media at the door, order something neat and enjoy the company of your bar neighbor. Respect the servers, get a few peanuts and try in as this is a bar where everyone should belong, provided you really try.

Been surfing here for years and finally decided try this place out. I ordered the special sandwich and a Long Island iced tea. Service, food, and drinks were all good. The chips I chose weren't that great to be honest.. I would recommend choosing one of the other chip options. Fun Fact: they have two pool tables and a jukebox.

Visit the city on foot and off the boardwalk and noticed the picking egg sign. As a connoisseur of pickled eggs I give them a 9 out of 10 it only takes a little more heat. Five on the spot. Thank you for the wonderful homemade pickled eggs!

Very original place. The young man was really attentive. The girl needs better people skills. Apart from that, we enjoyed our beers and pool table.
