We love to visit the little shops along Frankfort Road. We decided to stop at a little sidewalk cafe/bakery named Blackdog. We sat at a table on the sidewalk to enjoy the beautiful day. We had roasted garlic soup and a smoked bacon BLT with homemade bread. It was delightfully delicious. This will be one of our regular stops again next year on our return visit from Birmingham. This is one of the features that makes our trip such fun and one of the reasons we return each year.
Bread and pastries here divine. You can pick blindfolded and it will still be guaranteed amazing. Kouign amann is the best we’ve ever had they are available only on Fridays and Saturdays and usually sell out before the afternoon. But, there are plenty of other pasties and they are all fresh, flaky perfection. Hands down the best bakery in Louisville!
