The first time, I ordered my usual Southern Biscuit with Sausage to-go, not only did it take well over 20 minutes, but my biscuit was burnt and hard as a rock. Added too much onion and sauce. Figured this may be a one off, so went back to dine in and brought my wife with me and ordered the same thing with home fries on the side, and while not burnt this time, the quality is just not there anymore, especially not for $15 for my Southern biscuit. This place is so close to being great but it always just misses the mark. The food and staff are great but the ordering process is always so over complicated and bulky. Lots of confusion about online orders, who enters them, what the wait time is, where you should wait, which register to go to when you walk in. Today we ordered an online order and when we arrived 20 minutes later, someone explained they hadn’t entered our order into their system yet. Blue Hippo has a great atmosphere, well thought out menu and tasty food. Somehow though I would struggle to go back.. execution matters and that’s where they missed, big time. 28 minutes for two lattes and 16mins after that for two egg dishes. The owners/managers were standing around whispering to each other and allowing the staff to fall flat without help or direction. The staff are super friendly but lack guidance. While waiting it became apparent that everyone in the place was having a similar experience: online orders incorrect or incomplete, coffee delays, confusion in order timing. Was really excited to try this place because of the ratings, but any restaurant that ignores food allergies gets a permanent 1 star from me. Coffee was okay. EDIT: Partner let me tried their coffee. It was horrible. Tried to get a chicken sandwich with the onions and mayo removed—I'm allergic to onions. I love them, but they give me an awful anaphylactic reaction. Received a sandwich with only onions and mayo. No idea what went wrong here, but for $17, this is unacceptable. There are a ton of other excellent options in the area... Bad luck to me for trying a new place. I recommend Bagelwich Bagel Bakery, only a minute away.

Horrible experience. I think this place is under new management. Service was horrible. We had to wait an hour for a cup of coffee at a coffee house!! No coffee on hand at a coffee house? The oatmeal we ordered was cold. Brunch took almost 2 hours. I was brought a credit card reader for my bill. I asked if there is a surcharge and was told “no”. Get my bill and there is a credit card surcharge. No posting anywhere about a surcharge for credit. I say this place used to be great but Joe anymore. Avoid!!
Blue Hippo is a convenient restaurant with a chill ski lodge-like atmosphere and an impressive menu of coffee and brunch options. The food and coffee were solid, but the service was lacking. The staff member seemed inexperienced and was not very efficient or friendly. Despite some issues with the service, the food was good and reasonably priced. Hopefully, the staff can improve in the future to enhance the overall dining experience.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. The customer service is consistently fantastic and their drinks are incredibly delicious. I always opt for a customized drink, which is always executed perfectly. No big chain could compare to Blue Hippo.
The coffee at this restaurant is amazing, and they give a good portion size. I especially enjoyed their matcha latte.

The Goldilox had no lox or arugula. Just egg, cream cheese, and 1 cherry tomato. Very disappointing .
Great food but orders are consistently missing items.
