The place only opened at noon! The food is authentic, flavourful, and down rightfantastic. Nothing was overly greasy, or salty, which tends to happen in some Chinese restaurants. If you like Chinese food that is a bit on the salty side, this is the place for you. The food is pretty authentic and select dishes I've had are pretty tasty. One of the most attractive part of this restaurant is that if you order anything more than $11 you get free soup dumplings! Now that is a good deal! I had the braised pork with preserved vegetables and it was delicious and Well Done compared to other Chinese restaurants. This my go-to local sit down Chinese restaurant. Food is excellent and easily better than many Chinese restaurants I’ve been to closer to the city. My favorite dishes which I think they make well: fried string beans, salt pepper pork chops, braised pork with bean curd sheet knots, pan fried pork buns, scallion pancake with sliced beef, soup dumplings, and the chicken in the “choose your meat” section at the end of the menu (I haven’t tried all of the meats or sauces for this but the chicken comes out extra crispy and the general tsos sauce was good). The soup dumplings are not the best I’ve had but definitely respectable good enough to fulfill a soup dumpling itch.

During my visit I ate quite a few dishes on the menu but the standouts to me were the following: Supreme Shu Mai It was large than most places typical size for a dim restaurant, it was so juicy and delicious that I had order two more orders to go. Porkand Tofu Sheet Knots It was seasoned perfectly and it is not food you can get at your type american chinese restaurant. Ithas a great mouthfeel switching between the porkbelly and the tofu knots. Overall this place is 5 stars service was fast andprofessional. Food came out in a timely manner from the kitchen and I do enjoy a family style restaurant.
Nice family style restaurant serving Shanghai style cuisine. Steamed pork soup dumplings V good Steamed vegetable dumplings in spicy sauce V good Shredded pork with bamboo shoots Chili sauce very little pork Pork chop over sweet sour sauce they used apple cider vinegar for sourness NOT RECOMMENDED. Vegetables Tofu in spicy Sichuan sauce again heavy on the ACV. Service was nice , staff was good , dishes come out as they are made. Not all together. May return for the dumplings only.
Pan fried buns are all burnt and I didn't discover this until I came home. This is something that the kitchen should look at before packing all the food up. For the prices that I am paying, this is not acceptable.
Great local place that has authentic Chinese food that you would normally have to travel into queens to get. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. The free soup dumplings as appetizer was excellent.
