"Went to this restaurant based on a recommendation of a really close friend. I ordered the Japchae which was really good but the wait time was horrible. Almost 1 hour to get something to eat, place was extremely cold because apparently the heat was acting up, me, my husband and friends were really uncomfortable the whole time we were there."

I am a fan of Korean fried chicken. I live 5 minutes away from this place, but now I drive 30 minutes to get chicken from Palisade Park, and here's why. First of all, their soy sauce is way too salty with no flavors. Their spicy sauce is very inconsistent sometimes way too hot, sometimes not hot at all. That is, if they put spice there at all!! Too many times, they just gave us soy sauce instead of spicy sauce. They tend to mix up orders a lot. And they are understaffed so you always have to wait extra minutes. Chicken is too dry, too. I'd rather drive 1 hour (going there and coming back) and get proper Korean fried chicken.

Additionally, the service leaves much to be desired. During my last pickup, there was no one at the register because the cashier was busy chatting with the staff in the back, seemingly trying to avoid dealing with frustrated customers waiting too long for their orders. It feels completely disorganized. I would recommend going the extra distance to visit a different Bonchon location if you can; it’s worth it for a better experience. However, if you're really craving it and don't have time to spare, you might have to settle for this one. I hope things improve here in the future.

Their fried chicken is the best in the area. It's crispy, juicy, and glazed with an addictive garlic soy sauce. Their prices are a bit high and we've had issues with orders being lost, wrong, or not done on time, which is a shame because the food is so good. It can be uncomfortably loud in the restaurant due to loud music and no sound absorbing panels in the ceiling. So I wouldn't recommend eating inside. Luckily the chicken keeps very well on the drive home!

for how empty the place was when I was there, the food took a long time to come out. I was excited to try the chicken, but the boneless chicken is more like nuggets. the sauce isn't really sauce, it's practically baked on there. the ddukbokki was really soggy and watery. I dont have any complaints with the actual flavor of anything, but it was still somehow hard to really enjoy... I know it's a popular chain, but in my opinion, try your luck elsewhere. Highly recommend takeout! The wings and bulgogi fries were spectacular. Next time we’ll order ahead (waited around 20 min in the restaurant, not really a sit down vibe) and will probably pass on the hot/spicy wing sauce (it was delicious but VERY spicy). The bulgogi fries were delicious and very loaded and filling. Will be returning for takeout! Hope to try some other items but these were so good.

I waited 40 minutes for wings, which I was okay with. However, I was disappointed when I received a flat soda. When I asked to exchange it, I was questioned about my complaint, which I found frustrating. It seemed petty that they wouldn't replace a $2.50 can of soda with a fresh one. That small amount cost them a new customer and led to this negative review. I won’t be returning.

It is a hit or miss here. Recently we picked up the 30 count soy garlic and spicy chicken wings which were not double fried hence soggy and filled with sadness. There were a few uncooked parts too. I also never understand why the radish containers are 60% water to radish ratio. This is not the case at other Bonchons. Otherwise the workers are friendly and other times are good.

The boneless wings were quite dry and lacked sufficient sauce. When we asked the staff for more sauce, they refused. We even offered to pay for extra sauce, but they still declined. Additionally, the food took a long time to arrive as they seemed to prioritize DoorDash orders over those of customers dining in. On a positive note, the edamame, soup, and fries were tasty. this is one of my favorite lunch spots in town—the lunch menu is nice and affordable but be sure to order ahead via phone call. each order is made to order to ensure the crispy crunchy chicken. very accommodating for dine in and really easy for take out as well. the soy garlic is my favorite. be sure to check out their boba options as well!
