When we pulled up I had very high hopes for the place, because the pit was smoking. When I walked in, I was immediately hit with the smell of a seafood market. It seems that maybe they want to be a seafood restaurant that has bbq instead of a bbq restaurant that sells fish. The slaw was ok and the potato salad is most likely from a container. My wife’s okra was so salty you couldn’t eat it. Now I’m getting ahead of myself. When they brought out our bbq plates from a “mom and pop” restaurant then set down on the table to go packs of sweet baby rays bbq sauce made in Chicago. I knew I was at the wrong place. Just really disappointed. Typically if the meat is good you don’t need sauce but for a bbq restaurant to not make their own sauce in the south, well, that’s just sacrilege. The pulled pork was just ok, however, the ribs were tough and the meat didn’t fall off the bone. Flavor was ok, just needed to cook a little longer.I gave it 2 stars because it has potential. But I go to bbq restaurants when I want bbq and seafood restaurants when I want seafood. Especially at a mom and pop style restaurant. They took our order at the counter, gave us our drinks, and we sat down. They brought us our food when it was ready to be served. They didn’t check on us anymore after that.
