Stopped in Perce on our motorcycle trip on our third week of travel. weather was unusually cold for second week in August, 15C. arrived around 6PM, checked into our accommodations and proceeded to look for supper, first 3 locations we checked were booked for the night. Continued to walk and found this lovely bakery offering pizza, sandwiches and beer, I had to check this out. Bonus factor, outside seating only a biker could appreciate, who else travels with gear for any weather? English was not a problem, food choices were OK, wife had quiche and I had Croc Madame (new experience, ham & cheese on a long slice bread), plus a local craft beer and a pepsi. This is not for the high brow snob who...
One tall woman keeps a friendly smile on her face, takes orders, delivers food outside to people, prepares food, heats food, clears tables, returns heavy bins of dirty dishes to the kitchen, does everything, and the guy behind the counter? Rarely smiles, seems to barely know how to work the cash, doesn't help out much and perhaps is the owner? Typical, n'est-ce pas? Inequality everywhere.... They are understaffed, as are most businesses these days, so she is doing the work of 3 employees while he is doing the work of less than half an employee... He could have been having an off day but I was there two days in a row, same story both days.
Cannot believe they don't accept the credit card! I had to leave everything on the desk and went to the opposite side of Percè to find a withdrawal machine. Reason? They spend few money to keep the credit machine: and what about other shops or restaurant? Unbelievable. Despite that, the sweets are so delicate and fresh that I strongly recommend it!
For an excellent breafast, dinner or dessert this is the place for local food! We had a quick and friendly service too! The banana and blueberry smoothies was incredible. The anana and mango too. Great place! I would recommend it to anyone. Réservez une table maintenant
