The place is absolutely charming! The patio is fantastic, and the service is excellent. I was there last night (August 1st) and enjoyed their Smoked Meat Poutine along with a refreshing Red Beer. Our server, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. It’s a local spot with a genuine neighborhood atmosphere, and I really loved it. If you’re looking to escape the touristy areas of Quebec City, this is the perfect spot. You can also take a stroll down the road under the canopy of trees and admire the local architecture—especially the apartments with stairs everywhere, which we found delightful. Les faux fromages véganes habituellement viennent râpés et fondent dans la sauce. Pas à la souche! Ils ont leur propre fromage à poutine maison fait avec des gros morceaux de tofu marinés qui rendent bien l'expérience d'une bonne poutine qui fait squick-squick. Avec des échalotes dessus et l'option d'ajouter du kimchi en plus, ça vous remplis un bedon complètement. En bonus, leur bières sont excellentes et ils ont une petite terrasse sympathique avec des bûches de bois comme tabourets. We chose to dine at this restaurant based on the positive reviews on Happy Cow, which mentioned good vegan options and a vegan poutine with vegan cheese. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the vegan poutine did not have any vegan cheese. The only other item on the menu marked as vegan was the onion rings, but they were served with a honey dip, which was disappointing. Despite this, we found the poutine to be delicious even without the cheese, thanks to the flavorful sauce. The beer was also tasty. The atmosphere at this restaurant was charming and inviting, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by the extremely rude server. My mom's wine had turned bad, and although she never usually sends things back, I encouraged her to do so since she couldn't even drink it. The server's reaction was so harsh that it almost made her cry and embarrassed her over a minor issue. Additionally, the food was disappointing and none of us enjoyed it. I ordered the vegan poutine, but I would recommend going to Poutine Ville if you're in search of a better poutine. Réservez une table maintenant

I have to mention that the poutine at this restaurant currently has the most delicious vegan cheese curds I have ever tasted. Vegan cheese curds can be difficult to get right, often having a texture that is off and lacking the slight bitterness of good dairy cheese curds. However, La Souche has exceeded expectations with their homemade, tofu-based curds. If you're a vegan missing out on good poutines or simply want to try an exceptional one, you musts try this one.

Même si les options véganes sont limitées, celles offertes sont excellentes. J'ai pris le burger seitan avec poutine végane en accompagnement (qui était très grosse d'ailleurs! et c'était délicieux. Plusieurs choix de bières (et un cidre qui sauront satisfaire tous les goûts, même pour les personnes comme moi qui n'aiment pas trop la bière. J'ai aimé qu'il y aille une boutique juste à côté où on peut acheter leurs bières en canettes.

This place has a very nice vibe. I tried two of their beers and I liked them both. To put a cherry on the top, I added a poutine with fried-cheese-curd balls and it was amazing! I recommend this place. Réservez une table maintenant
