that was our first time here. we enjoyed the meal, as the food was good and the menu was varied. a few veggie options for me I enjoyed the unique vegan salad with picked gurke and added fried halloumi. the bark bouruignon was delicious, but only came with half a carrot and half a pfarrer (and maic). fruit crumbs for dessert was tasty, although microwaves, so the crumb was not crumb. we were pleased that there were free parking in front of the site and the venue was impressive. while the servier staff was beautiful, it was the service that left them down here. jars and cutlery were provided with watermarks, the table had salt above and some of the chairs were dirty. also our beverage order wa...
Beautiful venue and location, stunning views and the tree of all trees!! Driving up the sweeping drive we expected a stunning experience. Certainly the dining room was grand, and only disappointed with the choice of music which didn't reflect the surroundings at all. The lady serving was lovely and very attentive, but menu was short and basically burgers of all design. As a Coeliac I could only have the rib eye steak (the most expensive meal on the menu) which was perfectly edible (apart from the tomato which had a peculiar taste) but not as special as the venue.
A couple who arrived after us ordered burgers and received their food before us, even though we ordered the same thing. The burgers were decent, though not exceptional, but at a good price. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, remembering our promotion so we didn't have to remind her when the bill came. We left a tip on top of the service charge included in the bill.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience and enjoyed the food, but the service could be improved as the waitresses seemed a bit disorganized at first.
The setting was pleasant and the service was decent, however the quality of the food left quite a lot to be desired. The steak was not quality meat (full of chewy tendons), the grilled sea bass was poached/boiled not grilled, and the beef of the burger was overdone and dry. Also sauces provided were in sachets like from fast food restaurants, not something that should be served in a 4* hotel. The value for money for the food was low and overall underwhelming and disappointing.

the grange could make up with a coat, felt very 1980s, the atmosphere was cold. the personal was friendly, but the service was below the average in consideration of the prices and in comparison to similar types of places, paper serviettes, menus on the table etc. menu had a good choice, but starter was dry and cooked over. To sum up overpriced for what they get would compare with a harvester or similar and get a better atmosphere, would not go again.
Friendly staff. Unfortunately, we were disappointed the with the quality of the food. The sautéed king prawn starter and crispy squid starter were frozen not fresh, as were the chips that came with the Ribeye steak. Two Ribeye steaks £52 I don’t expect anything cooked from frozen at that price.
The fish batter was too hard, indicating that the fish may not have been freshly cooked. The taste of the actual fish was not very enjoyable, suggesting that it may have been pre-cooked and reheated. The only saving grace was the discount from Fork, as otherwise it would have been poor value.
The restaurant has a stunning location and the food was delicious. It was a bit expensive, but I was pleased to receive a 50% discount. The staff were friendly and attentive.
