We arrived here travelling back from the Tarn Gorge on a trip through France on our way home. As I walked onto the terrace a nasty little dog shot out at me from one of the tables and nearly bit my leg. I was quite shaken by this but it doesn’t affect my view of the restaurant. After this unsettling opening episode we entered the restaurant, and sat down at a nice table well presented. The place is very attractively decorated and the location is very pleasant. There are great views across the stream nearby and a large airy open space in which to eat. There is a bar for those just having a drink: and of course the terrace for those wanting to sit outside. Nous avons pensé qu'il serait intéressant d'explorer le restaurant récemment réouvert. Nous étions ravis de voir qu'il était assez fréquenté. Le seul menu disponible à midi semble être le menu 3 plats à 13 euros avec le choix entre 2 entrées, 3 plats principaux et 2 desserts ou fromages. Nous avons trouvé que les plats étaient tous plutôt peu intéressants. Ma femme a choisi une entrée melon et jambon et du cabillaud avec du riz comme plat principal, les portions étaient adéquates. J'ai pris une entrée mozzarella et tomate et des tagliatelles au saumon comme plat principal, les portions étaient petites. Noticed on a recent visit to Cherveix that the restaurant was open again. Fantastic meal at 13 euros for three courses (but assume the price will go up when established). Lovely owners Cyril and his wife extremely attentive, food excellent, they speak perfect English. They accommodated my no meat requests perfectly (I am a fussy eater). I just couldn't fault anything about the experience and food/drink. Will be going back soon.
This is a nicely decorated restaurant, run by a Dutch owner who is extremely friendly. He runs some theme nights such as fish and chip supper with entertainment and these prove to be very popular but he also has traditional French food and the snails were very good. Also does wonderful cocktails ...definitely worth a visit.
