I quickly understood two things. First, the employee who helped me three days ago had been exceptionally nice. So, on this visit, I ended up paying over $16 for mac and cheese and still left a tip because I believe in tipping, especially when the food is good. Before leaving, I explained to the staff member that my concern wasn't the price, but rather not wanting to order a large size and have it go to waste, as I find wasting food unacceptable. I also mentioned that the food is really good, but sadly, I won't be returning due to this experience.

Just OK. No gravy for mashed potatoes, wonder bread for the fish sandwich. Seafood “platter” had 2 scallops and 4 shrimp with decent size fish over a sea of cold rubbery fries. They seem to be good at fish and chicken only. When I asked if they had a roll for the fish sandwich like the giant sign shows instead of 2 pieces of store bought white bread they just said “ no, it usually comes with corn bread, but we’re out”. Worst takeout experience in quite a while.
Food used to be really good and then they started to fall off. How you have a soul food place with barely any black people cooking or behind the counter. Then as of the last 2 times I’ve ordered, I found hair im my food and dirty containers. Sure they gave me my money back, but I t’s genuinely saddening to not be able to go there anymore.
The food quality has declined compared to before. I ordered takeout for dinner, and the price per person was around $10 to $20. I would rate the food a 3 out of 5, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 3 as well. I would recommend trying the Smothered Pork Chops and Potato Salad.

If you 're having problems sleeping get an order of ANYTHING from here. The -itis will kick in shortly after finishing your meal. LOVED the carrot cake.

The food was surprisingly good albeit a little expensive. I will definitely be back because it was worth it.
