Brumby's drew the short straw with this review, as their fruit scones - which hopefully will be covered another time, another place - are beautiful. The real short straw, however, was drawn by me and the Mrs, as the plain scones we picked as an alternative because the fruit ones had all gone, were a real shocker. Basically, fruitless, floundering and falling apart, they lacked all the qualities of the fruit scone and it seemed as if there was an issue with the mix, as the texture and feel was nothing close to that of the aforementioned. Truly disappointing.
