Budapest Bakeshop is a unique bakery known for its authentic Hungarian Chimney Cakes, also known as Kurtoskalacs. The origins of Chimney Cake go back over 300 years in Hungary, and Budapest Bakeshop has taken these traditional treats to a new level of deliciousness. Located in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, the bakery offers a wide range of sweet and savory chimney cakes. The sweet chimney cakes at Budapest Bakeshop are made from fresh yeast dough prepared daily. They offer various flavors like original (just sugar), cinnamon sugar, walnut, raspberry, and poppyseed. Additionally, they have Sweet Chimneys with spreads like Nutella Walnut, Oreo Cheesecake (my boys favorite), Coconut Cheesecake,...

Being Hungarian, I had never heard of the chimney cakes they promote at their store. Well, we had them and they are incredible! We got two of them. The original is covered only in sugar. The other cake we got was the cinnamon and sugar version. Both areawesome! It?s like nothing you?ve ever had before. Crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. They have othertreats there, as well, but we only had the chimney cakes. Stop in and try them. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

I LOVED THIS PLACE!! So good I went here twice in the same weekend and still wanted more. A little pricey at $9 each but well worth it. The dough was soft and fluffy with a seasoned crispy crust. The owner is from Hungary and decided to do a savourytwist on the traditionally sweet chimney cones and words can't describe how amazing this is. A MUST try here. I'd make a 1.5hdrive just to come back here that's how muched I loved it

No visit to Niagara on the Lake is complete without visiting The Budapest Bakeshop for a delicious chimney cake! My favorite is the plain sugared cake. So fresh, sweet, and delicious! The savory ones are wonderful too. Friendliest staff and beautifullocation. You simply must go!

Stumbled upon this bakeshop and absolutely fell in love! I had no clue what these funky bread cones were and the cashier took the time to fully explain the history of this savoury/sweet treats! Such a very cool concept and tradition I've never comeacross before!

This one of our favourite spots to get a tasty snack while in Niagara on the Lake. A few flavours to choose from. Chimney Cakes are bread that is baked on a wooden roll then pulled off and ready to be served. You can see the process take place inside theshop.

If you come to NOTL and don’t experience these famous chimney cakes you are SERIOUSLY missing out! The savoury and sweet are incredible. So fresh, a true gem. Worth the wait in line if there is one. Don’t miss this place!

1st time trying this place, omg, it is the best sandwich ever. I had the turkey, bacon and pesto one. The sandwiches are so filling. There was a bit of queue but it went down pretty quickly.

Such an enjoyable smell upon entering, it was a busy line up but they got through it fast. The shop was clean, nicely decorated. We got 4 chimney cakes, loved them all we will be back.
