The meal was absolutely delightful. I had the steak, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mushroom sauce on the side was a nice touch. It was probably the best steak I've had in years. My friend had the pan-fried duck, which had crispy skin and was cooked perfectly. The vegetables on the side, especially the sweet peas, were stunning. The potato Rosti was also incredibly tasty. We were too full, but couldn't resist dessert. The lemon curd tart was heavenly, with a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors, served with fresh whipped cream and raspberry sauce. For one reason or another we didn't get to come here till our last evening of our holiday. A shame as we would probably have gone more than once. The food is superb and the service was efficient and friendly. They don't sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own which we found really good. It meant you could have what you liked and didn't have to pay as much for a glass of wine as you would for a whole bottle which is normally the case. If you get a chance book yourselves a table.
We walked round the town first before chosing Cafe Bistro and, for a small Scottish town, found it to be surprisingly good for late lunch. Interesting menu included excellent soup, as others have found, and dishes with fresh ingredients all well prepared and presented. Pleasant and efficient service and good clean toilet. Would have liked to try the evening menu but had to move on, unfortunately. Thanks to all.
Very friendly chef and so was the waiting staff, even though very young and new to the job. Food was very good , oly let down the vegetables, which seemed reheated from Sunday lunch. Can recommend the salmon which comes with a really different sauce., also bruschetta with sundried tomatoes was very tasty,

This is a fantastic bistro restaurant serving excellent freshly cooked food. Very reasonable prices, great service and bring your own bottle all make for a relaxed happy night out. Booking in advance necessary for evening meals.
Absolutely delicious! The staff are friendly and the food is exceptional for a reasonable price. It's definitely worth a visit, but make sure to make a reservation in advance as it's a very popular spot!
The restaurant was fantastic, with top-notch service and outstanding coffee. We can't wait to come back and try the food. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was inviting and enjoyable.
We visited with a group of six friends. We all really enjoyed our meals and desserts. I had the venison which was super tasty and tender. It is a small venue which created a cozy atmosphere.
