Without doubt the gastronomic Everest of Cardiff French cafe restaurants. Impossible to find unless you know where you are going but the journey is worth the effort. Try the Moules Mariniere for a mouth watering experience. The simple Croque is available in various guises all amazing. The ubiquitous quiche is elevated to an art form. This is an eclectic eating hole. Opening times are dictated by whim and you never know if and when they are open. Always call ahead. Ask for Dorothy, she will make you welcome.

Absolutely love visiting Le Cafe du Chat Noir! Dorothy and Stuart make you feel welcome, the entertainment is hilarious and the food is delicious. My friends and I consider this venue a calendar highlight and try to visit every 4-6 weeks. We’ve met some lovely people, enjoyed a wide range of fabulous entertainers and an ever-evolving menu of French-themed gastronomy. Highly recommended if you enjoy taking part in the night’s entertainment and be sure to book early if you see an event you fancy!

Went to an 'Allo 'Allo themed Cabaret and Dinner evening here and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Stuart provided delicious food with great portion size while Dorothee made sure you had great service along with Sophie. Gavin Sheppard 's vocals were brilliant while Stuart and Paul 's hilarious Allo Allo interludes kept us entertained between courses. All in all the evening was superb.

Outstanding little cafe in the arcade. The best food i have had in Cardiff and the staff are so lovely as well : I visited for one of their cabaret nights which was so much fun and excellent value for money, these events sell out as soon as they are announced and was the best night out in Cardiff. Had a Friday lunch here with a friend, lucky to get a table. Greeted by a lovely waitress. We ate mussels seafood salad , both absolutely delicious. Value for money, no faults at all. Looking forward to returning.

A very nice home cooked onion soup, roast beef and chocolate fudge cake in a lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Would go back.

Very pipular French/ English Cafe. Owned by friwnds of mine. Food is fantastic. Good value and afordable.
