Used to eat here frequently but haven 't been in a while. Shouldn 't have bothered going back. Food was decent, except for overly salted vegetables. Service was awful. Waited half an hour for waitress to even come over to our table. Appetizer came right away, but then waited another 45 minutes for food to arrive. I had ordered cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe. When food was delivered, the runner said, We were out of cavatelli, so we gave you penne instead. I hope that 's OK. Well... I guess so. Not much I can do about it at this point. I 'm certainly not going to wait another hour for another meal to be prepared. Really should have complained at the time, but couldn 't imagine waitin...
I have Celiac and have enjoyed my gluten free dinner here a few times. This time I was glutened and spent the Celine Dion concert in the bathroom, sick as a dog. $170 for a ticket to the bathroom. I don't know if different owner or management but service was terrible and the other diners with me didn't enjoy their non GF dinner. I only ate half my veal marsala because it wasn't good. Thank God I only ate half or I would be in bed for a week instead of 3 days. We were the first group in to be safe from cross contamination but didn't help. Don't advertise separate kitchen areas if not safe for those like me with Celiac Disease. This is not a trend for me, it is my life.
we have been feeding in cafe formaggio for several years. the restaurant was recommended to us by friends when I mentioned that one of my grandchildren was gluten-free and we were hard looking for a suitable place to eat with her. my friends had a similar problem until they discovered this restaurant, one of the only ones I know of it, has a separate, extensive menu for gluten-free choices, including appetizers and desserts. Moreover, the regular menu offers are wonderful and all the decisions we have made were delicious and plentiful. the facility and the ambiente in restaurant are charming and the service excellent. we rate cafe formaggio 5 stars. a favorite of us.
My friend treated me to a birthday lunch this Friday a lovely, relaxing afternoon there. Although it was the height of the lunch rush hour, we never felt hurried or rushed. Our waiter Lenny was a gem not only is he a seasoned waiter but so warm and personable too. We felt like we knew him for years. The food was both delicious, abundant and clearly made with finesse. I enjoyed the lemon basil chicken panini and my friend had a scrumptious cavatelli dish with shrimp. Of course I had a birthday glass of Pinot Grigio. We both had coffees and shared one of their amazing desserts. Lunching there was a fantastic way to kick off the weekend.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. After dining at several restaurants in Long Island, we can confidently say that this restaurant is one of the best. Our waiter, George, was incredibly attentive and never missed a beat. The management, Nicole and Antonio, were gracious and always made sure everything was in order. The food was excellent, with a great menu and a fantastic selection of gluten-free options. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience with family and friends.
We recently had lunch at this restaurant and would give it a solid 8 out of 10. The service was excellent and we were able to have a pleasant conversation without any interruptions. The food was also comparable to other establishments we have been to for different occasions.
I love this restaurant because they have a fantastic menu. My daughter is gluten-free, so their gluten-free options are the best! I always enjoy coming here with my family because there is something on the menu for everyone to love.
While the salad and appetizer were great the filet of sole was gray aka frozen. The shrimp were mini rocks and completely tasteless. The risotto was far from creamy
