Visiting Bamberg for the first time, we wanted a quick lunch and if possible to eat sitting outside in the beautiful sunshine. Cafe Luitpold came along and we chose a place in the sun. Getting someone to take our orders was then harder ... Luitpold...looks to have too few service persons to handle the amount of customers as the location is very good, next to a park and including a glass-walled winter-garden for rainy days. Met a language partner here for a hot chocolate and a Johannisbeer drink. My cocoa was hot, which was nice for a change, and tasted good. The price was very reasonable for the size of the cup. The Johannisbeer drink didn't seem to be that good, as she drank it slowly and at the end of our stay, there was still some there. Service was quick and pleasant. The outdoor patio was popular until it started to rain. Inside the chairs and tables were spread around and it was a well lighted space.
We went here attracted by the picture of the fancy old, high-ceilinged room - which we didn't find. While the main space of the Cafe Luitpold main not be as splendid, thanks to the large windows it is a light and a comfortable space with wood tables and a relaxed atmosphere. The waiter was very friendly. We just had coffees and juice but the breakfast/brunch menu has a lot on offer. It also serves cocktails and meals.

This is a great little spot for a casual salad, burger, snack, brunch, or cocktails. I enjoy sitting outside people-watching near the park or inside with the big windows and cozy wood tables. Staff is attentive and helpful. Menu is extensive. We had a great time, loved the burgers and fries, and have enjoyed it tremendously! I also appreciate the spacious bathroom with a big changing table for the little people.
We called here a couple of times and were impressed by the surroundings and atmosphere. It is a ready good city centre bar and great for people watching. However on our second visit, we sat down and waited...and waited...for service which never appeared. We went back to our hotel and returned later, when we were served relatively promptly. It shouldn't happen, but it didn't affect a good night out.
Been there a few times as I stil lived in Bamberg. Luv the atmosphere esp. at the side room, big range of choices of beverages n good food and friendly staffs. Its located at the town centre just rite beside the fame Bamberger Hof, enough pos. of parking spaces and within walking distance to both Oldtown and Pedestrian Shopping Area.
Met friends for breakfast here. We had a table on the veranda on a very pleasant day. The cafe is very pet friendly. It is nice to see people relaxing, reading the paper,sipping coffee, chatting in such a lovely atmosphere.The food was very good. So was the service. i am going back on my next visit to Bamberg.

The entrance to this café-bistro is either through the lobby of the adjacent Bamerger Hof Hotel or from the outside. The place is always buzzing and offers music for the young crowd in he evenings. Good selection of dishes but the salads, which sound tempting and healthy, invariably come swimming in dressing!
