Cafe National - Réserver une table

Thanks to the very positive comments made on TripAdvisor which encouraged us to book for a dinner in this restaurant. It was a good idea to book in advance, especially on a Friday evening, as the seating is limited .The proposals on the menu change...with the season. We tried as main the Tartare of beef with black truffles and the Choucroute with seafood.Both plates were not only excellent but very generous at reasonnable prices. The desert a yogurt ice cream with apple liquor and a Gruyère meringue was also delicious. As far as wine is concerned there are many first class wineries in this region so that you have only too much to choose from. We opted for a pinot noir from Fully. The service was friendly and efficient.

Very cosy restaurant! Limited seating but we were lucky to have booked a table. We all went for the bouillabaisse which came highly recommended and was very good indeed! For starters we had the tartare boeuf with black Trüffel and the escargots. For desert we...first had their Sorbet arrose with Wilhelmine followed by bleu de bresse also with black Trüffel. For wines we had a bottle of Arvine Besse and two of Syrah. Very good and friendly service and we enjoyed it immensely!

We had lunch on the upper floor. Lucky we had made a booking, then the small place was full. There was only one waiter, but he managed efficiently. The food was delicious and the service and ambiance very pleasant. We shall be back for more.

This was my third visit to the National and as usual food and service was impeccable. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Martigny, I would strongly recommend this adress to everyone.

Friendly service, excellent food, from starters to dessert. Very good quality for price. We'll be back !
