The atmosphere and the service here is very good but the food lets it down completely. I cannot believe the number of highly rated reviews this place has scored.Bruschetta of the day was terrible. The bread was too thin and the toppings very bland.The goat cheese bites were unpleasant.The eye fillet was very disappointing. The red wine sauce was far too reduced and was tart and very unpleasant. One of our diners wondered if they had used vegemite in the sauce and didn't eat her steak. The steak itself was devoid of flavour and texture. The polenta chips were soggy and tasteless.My wife's gnocchi was well made and soft and springy. However it was let down by a tart tomato sugo and way too muc...
Had dinner at this gorgeous Italian restaurant in Yarraville. The service was excellent from the time we walked in. We were placed on a nice cosy table in the corner in this dim lit restuarant. The calamari was just the best lightly battered cut thinly and just melted in your mouth very authentic. For mains my partner had the linguini marinara in white sauce and my pasta had a Ragu meat sauce which the large beef pieces were so tender. I highly recommend this restuarant if you are wanting a real authentic meal the staff are very friendly and the owner is very welcoming. This will now be one of our regular places to eat. You will need to book as it is very busy.
We had Saturday night dinner here and agree with the number 1 rating on TripAdvisor. The restaurant was lively and warm; the staff were attentive and friendly; the food was amazing! We had a great selection antipasto and delicious fried cheese. The mains reminded us of Italy. Flavour filled duck pappardelle , a rabbit gnoccho, potato ravioli and the rigatoni special. We had room for desserts too. Great selection of wines. We will be back soon.
Cafe Terroni is traditional Italian with a quaint and family friendly atmosphere. The service is always good, although better downstairs than upstairs -so ask for downstairs seating when you book. The menu is not the most adventurous but has all the classics. I love their gnocchi. It is always tender and delicious. Last time I had the salmon which was also excellent. Last night we thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Café Terroni. The Pasta Marinara (in white wine and garlic) is one of the best of its type I've tasted in a long time. Bravo!! Last night's special, leg of veal, was also a high-quality, tasty meal. When visiting Melbourne we always aim to treat ourselves to a meal at Café Terroni and have never been disappointed.
