This restaurant in Lincoln serves the best wood-fired pizza. I would even consider it one of the best in Italy! Simone, the host, is incredibly friendly and you can truly feel the passion he has for this place. The staff are also kind, friendly, and competent, showing their own passion for what they do. Simone offers a wide range of menu options with ingredients of the highest quality, sourced locally when possible. The restaurant perfectly combines Italian tradition with the flavors of Lincolnshire. This is definitely my favorite place to eat!
We hired out Caffe Portico to celebrate a 30th birthday, from the time we made the booking to the end of the evening celebrations the staff did all they could to make the celebrations go without a hitch and accommodated our music, lights and dancing! I made a reservation for dinner here and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is off the beaten path, so it didn't seem to attract too many tourists. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided to book for our last night in the city.
I really enjoy this restaurant. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. However, I was let down to see a dog inside. I do not have any issues with dogs, but I do not want to feel obligated to be around them while I am trying to enjoy my meal.

Fantastic salad options with infinite choices of toppings. I went for chicken, mozzarella and avocado with roast veg...so delicious. Top marks Portico as I have so often found salads to be a wet lettuce affair.
