My family and I visited this restaurant for the first time at Henley Beach. There were 7 of us in our party. Unfortunately, when our order was placed, only 3 drinks arrived and we had to ask for the remaining drinks. After a long wait, our meals finally arrived, but one meal was completely missed. The rushed meal tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave, especially the chips. No apology was given. As gold members of Primo's, we frequently eat at our local location (not here), where the experience is much better. I would not recommend this specific restaurant and we will not be returning.
Lunch today at Cafe Primo in Henley Beach. Wife had a Cheeseburger and fries , I had Salt and Pepper Calimari and fries. Both very good. These were the luncheon portions but pricey.One thing I never get used to are the prices here in Australia. A burger in the States would be anywhere from $6-11, here it was $12.50, evening price is $18.95. It doesn't matter if your at a nice place or a McD's, 2 cheeseburgers and 2 small soft drinks run about $13.00. Primo's is a nice place for dinner as well but double the price on everything. As with so many places here, you order at the counter.
We found that Caffe Primo was very busy and it was difficult to find a table. We had not eaten in this chain of restaurants for some years so thought we would give it a go. There was a wide range of reasonably priced menu items although we found the food to be a bit average. Not sure if we picked a bad night but will most likely head up the road to Henley square next time we are eating in the area. If you are on a budget then give it a go as there is a good view of the ocean out the front and a wide range of food.
This was our first visit to Cafe Primo on the Esplanade in Henley Beach and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the menu, the food, and the prices. The cafe is located in a charming old heritage building right by the sea, offering both indoor seating and balcony seating with beautiful views of the ocean. We truly enjoyed our experience at Cafe Primo, including the lovely setting and the great value for the delicious food. The service was also excellent. Réservez une table maintenant
My husband and I came in for a late dinner and were welcomed warmly by a lovely waitress. We ordered a pizza and the pork medallions, both of which were reasonably priced, but neither stood out as anything special. The main problem was with the pizza - the base appeared to be just a pita bread, which is not really appropriate for a restaurant... We are unsure if we will return in the near future.
Right on the foreshore this café serves large meals so be prepared! I found that I struggled to get through the meal even though it was delicious but then again, I have a small appetite. (I will know for next time) The food was great as was the service but with wooden floors, I found it a little noisy..
One of my Mother in Laws favourite spots as it overlook the sea. Menu has changed a bit but still has our favourites. a bit noisy and LOTS OF FLIES. a NON NO for a restaurant. If you sit by the window keep one of the menus to splat them!Nee a fly screen or door ribbons.Food consistent.
