California Pizza Kitchen At Rossmoor Center

This review is aimed toward those who have never experienced California Pizza Kitchen and there are those of us locals like myself who just discovered it lately. I was amazed at the menu choices! We could have spent half an hour just deciding what to order. My husband and I went on a Saturday night and although they do not take reservations and they were a bit busy; they still seated us pretty quckly. They had some toppings I cannot imagine being on pizza such as Cheeseburger Pizza for meatlover’s which is what I thought for sure my husband would try. We went for dinner on June 9th. We had dine-in service. The food was good but the service was the one of the worst, or possibly the worst, service ever for a major chain. I asked for bread about four times, finally received it. I requested crushed pepper, still waiting, as I never received that. Asked for more bread, never got that either. Saw multiple customers leave after getting drinks without someone ever taking their order. Having said that, the customers that left, were smart. Not sure why you have 3-4 people seating us in the front and only 1-2 waiters. I can understand why we were seated right away. If I saw 2-3 parties leave, I can only imagine how many left prior. Good place to go for lunch. They always start you out with that great sourdough bread with the olive oil dipping sauce that you can't get enough of. I ordered the California Caprese Sandwich (roma tomatoes, fresh basil, cucumbers, fresh mozzarella and the housemade lemon herb vinaigrette) and the Sedona Tortilla Soup (vine-ripened tomatoes, tomatillos and corn with mild green chilies, southwestern spices and crispy corn tortilla strips) lunch combo. Food and Service from server was excellent. Mandy was awesome. The atmosphere was disrupted because the environment. Totally distracted from the uncleanness. The ledge was six month dusty, the sitting benches were dirty the floors were horrific. Tera was half sweepingnot cleaning the areas at all. This really disturbed my meal that was very good. Thank you

When I dined there for lunch (around 12), it was surprisingly not busy, so the service was great! Overall, the food and dining experience/atmosphere was a 10/10, and I would definitely recommend.
