Even with rude customer service, when fresh, their pizza slices and desserts are yummy, spinach pies not so much...that ends the positive review!!! The customer service by the older staff, especially the gray-haired woman, is just downright rude and unpleasant! While on my lunch, I walked in the bakery in the middle of finishing up a call and was told by I believe the owner, to take that call outside and come back in when you're done! I wasn't even in line yet! I don't know how my being on the phone asking for a slice of pizza stops you from doing your job??? I wish I could rate it negatively! I will never return to Calvito's. I prepaid for an order, but when I went to pick it up, I found out it was at a different location. Since I had a flight to catch, I didn't have time to go to the other store. I asked them to cancel my order and refund me. The staff member told me to call the owner the next day. When I spoke to Ray, the owner, he was incredibly rude. I explained my situation, but he refused to issue a refund, saying that if I didn't like it, that was my problem. This level of unprofessionalism has cost them my business for good, and I will make sure that everyone I know stays away as well.
Charming bakery with a delightful old-fashioned Italian-American atmosphere—it's reminiscent of the 1950s or maybe even later. Truly original and adorable! Their thick pizza reminds me of Sfincione—delicious! The pistachio rose water cookie is wonderfully delicate, perfectly sweet and satisfying. The cashiers are straightforward, genuine, and I really admire their hard work!
