We came to this restaurant for a special occasion. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with our order and our meals did not go through the kitchen. Despite the delay, the staff were very kind. However, there was tension in the kitchen and we could hear arguing when it was closed. Our meals were eventually cooked in 10 minutes and served to us. The fish basket that my 81-year-old mother ordered was not properly cooked, my steak was overcooked and cold in the middle, and my grilled calamari was not fully cooked. For a number of years our family have used the Bistro for most family functions, I considered the food and service to be the benchmark for small clubs. The bistro is now under new management , and while they appear to be attempting to produce a menu that matches what was previously served that has not happened. Last week we ordered the roast , trying the beef, pork and lamb in 3 separate meals all the meat was over cooked and very tough ,the roast potatoes defied attempts to cut them without having to first spear them the greens and pumpkin where ok. We had never been to this venue before & decide to give it a try. Absolutely thrilled with it. They have a wide range on the menu, however we 4 all decide the the seafood platter looked inviting, so we ordered 2 seafood platters between us. Phew I am glad we did not order 3. There was ample on the plate for us (big eaters would get through it OK) At $28 per plate it was the best value for money I have come across in seafood. The food was of high quality & fresh. Other meals being served look inviting too. Definitely worth the effort to get there. Suggest go early as parking could be a problem as it is a very popular venue. There is also a coffee shop as an alternative for afters
The reviews regarding dining at this restaurant were accurate based on our own experience. While they provide a tax bill as required, they do not accept payment receipts, which is inconvenient. Additionally, they add a credit card surcharge without clearly indicating it on the bill. This lack of transparency can be frustrating, as it makes it difficult to reconcile the total amount paid until receiving the credit card statement from the bank days later. bad food, sauce is awful, always see and known that a great place turn bad , last january till mid february was amazing these days is not up to standard, change your chef and hire the best what happen to those good chefs you have. im a member for so long and all i see now a days are "non aussie workers " hire locals who knows theyre stuff
It is so sad that we can no longer go to our local club for a tasty meal since change in January. Limited choice, tasteless, wonder when management will realise they have lost most of their regulars..coffee is only alternative bcz food is not edible anymore. Please do something to bring us back!
