I visited Canvas cove bistro in to sample some of the foods that were being raved about by friends. Walking in, you could tell that the restaurant was recently renovated with a fresh, clean and vibrant feel. The staff was friendly and accommodating and...made me feel welcome while I sat on my own soaking up the view of the sunset and the ocean. The food was next level and not something you would expect in a small town in Newfoundland. I had the cod dish with their garlic smashed potatoes. This was hands down one of the best cod dishes I have had on the island. The dessert was a walnut Brownie, drizzled with caramel and chocolate sauce and melted in my mouth. highly recommend.
We stopped in for a quick take-away but were persuaded to eat inby the engaging and energetic owner Carol Ann. We liked it so much we came back for dinner that night. The owner seems to know everyone in the house and if you are...a first time customer, as we were, she will make you feel like a regular by the time you leave. Servers and kitchen staff add to the informal, festive, friendly vibe. Food was excellent and always just enough out of the ordinary to make it memorable. Special kudus for the lobster roll. Establishment is on the water so whether you eat inside or on the porch the view adds to the experience.
My wife and I arrived into Twillingate at sunset and based on location for a sunset view we chose Canvas Cove Bistro. The view was great! We had a clear warm night so sitting on the patio and watching the sun go down was lovely....For dinner we had mussels in a tomato sauce and then lobster rolls! The lobster rolls were excellent. They were served on a fresh ciabatta bun which just helped make the taste so much better! Perfect spot for a lovely evening sunset dinner for two!
We went there with our kids for lunch after enjoying a boat tour in the morning. We ordered the lobster roll and the seafood chowder. Very fresh and delicious! The kids chicken sandwich and cheeseburger were equally fresh. The Iceberg beer was a great recommendation...for a light local beer! The service was quick and very friendly! Would certainly go there for lunch or dinner again!
One of the best meals I've had in a long time! Everything was perfect. I only wish I had room for more because it was that good. We went in for lunch and ended up adding on to our order long after we were full...just so we could keep sampling the food. I highly recommend! Plus it has a great view and a great location.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a family lunch at Canvas Cove Bistro before they closed for the season. Gillian, our server, was a delight and was great with our boys (ages and Definitely the best meal of cod we've ever tasted...(and we're NL residents)! Will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.
This place is a must go to restaurant.I visited there in The food there is amazing and displayed in the plate so neat and clean. The staff there is incredibly friendly and is awesome. I tried the cod fish dinner and it was absolutely...delicious and I would eat it again if i visit there in the future.
