We wanted fresh seafood but were staying in a hotel room so when we saw the sign for fresh seafood cooked straight off their boat we couldnt resist. We bought 1 kilo of prawns, a blue swimmer crab and some seafood sauce.... Popped into a bakery for fresh rolls and found a spot under a tree by the sea.....There were prawns left over for a prawn roll for dinner..... But only because we just couldnt eat any more....Rubbish in the bin, back to the hotel room (no fishy smells) ..... The ideal holiday feast.If you have a flat or apartment the fresh fish, green prawns and crabs looked stunning too.
It was such a pleasure to support a local restaurant and to truly experience its quality firsthand. As soon as you walk in, you can feel the inviting atmosphere. The fresh smell of fish and seafood was fantastic. The prices and selection were excellent. I would give it a 10/10 and will definitely be returning for more seafood.
Last 3 trips to Cairns, we must get cooked crab from them to eat while we were there and also bring back down south and overseas. Much cheaper than going to restaurant and quality is top. Service is good, opening hour is good for catching any flights.
this place has the best seafood in the cairns to not mention the best service. do not waste the time to walk around anywhere else seafood is local and fresh and the youngs behind the theke are so much fun. put them on their mandatory list for cairns.

I used to swear by Capt Cook Seafood for our fortnighly fish & chips but lately it don't seem fresh anymore. Perhaps its in the oil you're using. Salads are fresh and so so so delicious. Might give another try when courage builds up.
The fish, chips, and salad were all ruined by an excessive amount of salt. It's a shame that a large portion of fish and chips can be ruined so easily by too much salt. I was looking forward to my meal, but was quickly let down.
I buy all my seafood from here. The tuna and salmon fillets are always fresh and taste great. The frozen produce is good too, Especially the tiger prawns.
You would fail your journey in cairns if you don't spend your 80$ on a nice big fresh sea fruit platter a nice Fishermans boat location, nothing worth

Another highlight of any trip to Cairns is a feed from Captain Cook Seafoods. Always the best fresh seafood.
Took us a while to realize this restaurant was actually situated on two jointed boats at the harbor.
