My first visit here was a few weeks after they opened, soon after I moved to Minnesota. I’ve been back time and time again. Food? Delicious! Service? Exemplary! Atmosphere? Warm and inviting! Value? Outstanding! I go back because I love, and live near, this place and I feel comfortable there. I’ve read all the reviews, including the few unpleasant ones. I don’t know what the underlying unhappy peoples’ problems are, and frankly don’t care. People are certainly entitled to their opinions, and I think it speaks more to the character of the minority complainers and their attitudes then about the eatery. I’m glad they’re going elsewhere. More opportunities for me.
This was undoubtedly the best meal I've ever had. We started with bruschetta, which was absolutely delicious. Our entrees arrived shortly after we finished our appetizer. We decided to upgrade our salads to Caesar salad, and I appreciated that the dressing was flavorful without being too heavy. The bread was perfection as well. Our pasta dishes were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. To top it all off, we shared three pieces of cake: tiramisu, coconut crème, and chocolate cake, if I remember correctly. I honestly couldn't choose a favorite because they were all incredible. Thank you once again!
This charming little Italian restaurant is simply the best! The atmosphere is delightful, the service is excellent, and the food is fantastic! We enjoyed the bruschetta and artichoke dip, both of which were delicious. The balsamic drizzle added a nice tang. The homemade bread served with the salad was amazing! Every entrée we ordered was wonderful, and the portion sizes were generous—so much so that we had to take leftovers home. The flourless chocolate cake and tiramisu were absolutely irresistible! I highly, highly recommend this place. Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy your meal!
The service was shockingly rude. Despite several open tables and other diners being seated as they came in, we were repeatedly asked if we were ready to order. They even tried to give us take-out boxes just a few minutes into our meal. Our wine and water were taken away before we had finished. The staff was incredibly intrusive and seemed eager to rush us out. To top it off, the food was below average, and we could hear the staff making fun of us from the kitchen. My family loves Carmelo's! Kind, friendly staff, straight forward menu with a good wine selection. The bread you get with your salad is excellent! Recently remodeled (end of pandemic , the room feels cozy and authentic. The bathroom is downstairs, whichcan be tricky depending on how much wine you've had... : We'll come back again and again!
Ravioli appetizer was Amazing! The bread was the best I've had in a long time and our entrees were so fresh and flavorful, we will be back! The Tiramisu was so soft, creamy and billowy, it was the best I've ever had! I'm going to be thinking about this meal for quite a long time! Worth the money!
