As of late Carvel's devotion to customer satisfaction has plummeted. I went to Carvel to get my family ice cream for dessert, I was met with pure denial for a positive customer experience. The banana barge always came with all the ice cream being soft serve, they did not want to honor my request for just that. They had the nerve to tell me no. Am I not the customer? My brother, who has lived in Central Islip since 1974, recently visited Carvel on Motor Parkway. In the past, this location used to be King Kullen. He ordered a large banana milkshake, but when he tried it, he found that it tasted like vanilla instead of banana. The staff members are always friendly at this restaurant and I haven't encountered anyone being rude. However, I'm not here to make friends, I'm here for the ice cream. The ice cream is always delicious, but I have a suggestion for the manager: please ensure that the sundae dashers consist of alternating layers of candy, ice cream, candy, ice cream, candy, and then whipped cream. Just a friendly tip!
Worst carvel I've ever been to. One of the women has attempted to overcharge us several times on items and we refuse to go back. Charging 8 dollars for a ice cream cone with no toppings is unvelievable! Also charged $5 for a side of black cherry topping just because I forgot to ask for it ON the ice cream. Refused to put the topping on the ice cream instead. Never again.
Terrible experience. I visited the restaurant on National Ice Cream Day expecting to take advantage of their buy one, get one free offer on soft serve ice cream cups, as advertised on their store sign. However, the owner informed me that the promotion did not apply to cups.
