This is our second stay at this Ritz location. The first was summer of 2020, so probably not the best time to judge any hotel. At this stay, in the spring of 2023, we had a great experience at the Ritz St. Louis. The staff were great from the bellmen opening the doors and offering water to the front desk who helped us track down a copy of the Sunday times when they were all out. Our room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant is amazing. We did not get a chance to dine for dinner, but we had a drink there one night and brunch the next day. Service, food and decor were top notch. The neighborhood surrounding the Ritz is very clean and safe- you can walk to restaurants and feel comfortable...
I was real excited for our stay here and for the most part, it was good but it wasn’t great. I think the biggest problem was that only one of the threes elevators was working which means about a 20 minute wait every time you needed to go up or down ?. We’re Marriott titanium members and I guess they’ve spoiled us with all the extras we normally get with our stays so it was disappointing that that didn’t matter here and everything we’re used to getting for free, they offer it but for a fee. Other than that, the rooms were nice and the staff was friendly. Probably won’t stay here again just because we do appreciate those extras but we did enjoy our stay regardless.
We hosted my daughter's wedding at this venue, and the experience was enjoyable until I called on September 9th at 4:30 AM to discuss some additional charges on my credit card. The woman who answered the phone refused to provide her name and was extremely rude. Her combative and unprofessional demeanor was completely inappropriate for the establishment. I am still waiting for the hotel manager to contact me to address the extra charges.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in the US. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, every staff member treated us with incredible kindness. There’s also a speakeasy-style cigar lounge in the hotel that you definitely don't want to miss. If you’re considering a trip to St. Louis, spend a little extra to stay here—it's worth it!
Very nice, very clean, well appointed room. Quiet. Daily housekeeping. Polite and helpful staff. Only gripe is that breakfast on Saturday and Sunday is a buffet only. Cannot order off of the menu. It was a very nice buffet but too much food and the cost is reflective of the bounty.Safety: Quiet safe neighborhood (Clayton).
Service was first class. Everyone from bell services, restaurant staff, housekeeping and especially The Ritz Club staff were very attentive, polite and went out of their way to make our experience luxurious and pleasant. Don’t miss Cafe Don Alphonso! If your booking a private dinner, ask about their exclusive Wine Room.
Attended a Mercy event. Lovely venue with huge beautiful chandeliers. Wonderful staff/ waiters! Most delicious dinner... super tender 1 1/2 thick filet, juicy tender halibut, mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli, flavorful fresh salad, and chocolate raspberry mousse!Service: 5/5
