Cask Republic - South Norwalk

Sadly, underwhelmed! Music was too loud, for a Friday night, there was hardly anyone in there, and our waiter seemed preoccupied and in a rush even though it didn’t appear busy. We got the wings, meatballs and roasted cauliflower which were all ok. Meatballs were well cooked, however too sweet for our taste. Could’ve used some spice to balance it out. Wings were ok, too sweet again, and the best was the cauliflower. We left and migrated elsewhere. We were hopeful as the reviews were good! Not sure what happened that night.

We went to this restaurant on a Sunday evening and ordered appetizers and didn't have any misses. We enjoyed the extensive wine list, especially since bottles were half off on Sundays. We were also intrigued by the tap wine selection and were offered a taste before deciding on a glass of the cabinet wine which paired well with our appetizers. We suggested they add more tap wines to their menu. Overall, we had a great experience with a comfortable atmosphere, well-spaced tables, a good bar, and an enjoyable evening.

The food was great! We opted to get 5small plates instead of entrées. The pesto mac and cheese was fresh and delicious. The scallop ceviche was a bit acidic but very good. The house made paperdelli was perfect and the pork belly was divine cooked to a crisp. We had the burbon apple crisp for dinner and it was very hot to start. We couldn't eat it for for a bit. Overall the atmosphere was great and we didn't feel rushed.

The service at this restaurant was outstanding. The food was delicious and very well-seasoned, cooked perfectly. The only suggestion I have is to improve the selection of wines available by the glass, as the California Pinot and California blend tasted very similar. We will definitely be returning, but I will bring my own wine. Réservez une table maintenant

The restaurant wasn't too crowded for a Saturday night. The service was slow, but the food came out quickly and was not very impressive. However, the music and atmosphere were fantastic.

Five stars across the board. This place never disappoints- just as top notch restaurant with amazing staff and food. Perfect price point and cocktails to boot.

Wonderful service. Sunday Brunch menu is good. Food was a 4.5. Benedict Toast was not fully toasted but egg was poached perfectly. Cappuccino was delicious.

Delicious tapas, well-presented, quickly prepared and accompanied by great drinks. Definitely going back soon.
