The Castell hotel is a large structure against the mountains of the lovely Engadine. It looks like a Castle (hence the name) and although its appearance isn't what you'd call lovely, it is impressive. The terrace has a great sun exposure and fantastic views. I didn't care very much for most of the other guests, however. They weren't of the kind and social species. But don't let this deter you from your visit here. If you are here outside the tourist season (or at least, not during Christmas break,) it won't be very crowded and the service by the owner and his wife will be very good and friendly.The lunch menu is not very big, but there is probably something for everybody on it. I had the hamburger and I must say that it was one of the best patties I have ever had. The meat was delicious and ground in a perfect way. Every bite was a pleasure. Seasoning exactly right, not too intrusive. A very pleasurable experience and I hope to be back in summer to enjoy the terrace, service and food.

we were as a group of approx. 25 people there to eat. we could choose between two menu options. as an appetizer I chose squid carpaccio (very thin in sliced tintenfisch.) unfortunately one did not taste much of tintenfisch. also lacked a dressing or a sauce so that the whole came a little dry. the subsequent suppe tasted a little fad, but otherwise was quite delicious. the then coming bark fillet was simply fried. without asking us, we got all fried cattle fillet for practical reasons. what I hate - I need it medium rare or English. the dessert "crème brûlée" with a ball sky is standard in any middle class restaurant. and hangs out to my neck. overall, eating was good, but without a whipped and with small mosquitoes. I know I know I'm a critical dog. but only through critique you can learn, or.

We ate in this restaurant perfectly or we spent the night. The service was perfect. cooking partly Italian in very good way. the tagliatelles to the singelles and the beef tagliata were excellent. well varied cheeses and very good desserts.

Fantastic place for a drink / aperitif on a beautiful terrace in summer or near a fireplace in winter. Cosy and elegant place with great food and service
