I sat here on Sunday with the roast family for lunch and enjoyed my meal, which was beef. I would say that the bark was very tender, and there were many meerrettich. besides the roasted carrots came both greener and red cabbage and a carrot. this is next to a yorkshire pudding that was a good size, although I had much bigger, both at dunnings mill and at red lion. ideally, I would give this pub 3.7-3.9 stars. that is the heavy and flesh not as hot as they came out, and the heavy, although they are a deep brown in color, not so tasteful. in this sense I wouldn't be the following positive: all employees were very nice and the service was the best I had in a pub. they always collected the plate...
Made a visit to The Cat Inn based on a recommendation from a friend. Decided to book just incase it was busy, even though it was for a Sunday lunch slot. Glad we did because it filled up fast. The meal was amazing. Even though the menu wasn't massive it had lots of variety and based on the 2 mains we chose which were outstanding, I bet every other choice would have been of the same quality. All freshly cooked from scratch, which isn't something most restaurants can say these days. The daily specials looked amazing too. Service was spot on. A delightful lunch experience! Everything was generously portioned. The deep, rich, and creamy mushroom soup with truffles was superb, and the plate of mussels would have been perfect with some sourdough on the side. The roast was fantastic; the sirloin was cooked to perfection, lean, and beautifully accompanied by all the right flavors. The roasted chicken was the most tender piece of breast I've ever had—perhaps sous vide? It was moist and juicy, again enhanced by amazing vegetables. If I had to nitpick, I would suggest that the gravy needed a bit more depth of flavor as it was slightly watery. Overall, though, it was a top-notch lunch, and I had the best brat I've ever tasted in Britain....
I went to this pub for the first time a few weeks ago and was extremely impressed! The food was amazing. I had a crispy squid and chorizo salad with a side of caesar broccoli and it was to die for! The waitress was really friendly and attentive and able to recommend dishes really well which is rare nowadays. The pub was extremely accommodating to fit us in at such short notice. The decor is beautiful with fresh flowers and a lovely country vibe which you don't get often enough anymore. Well worth a visit! Réservez une table maintenant
Excellent service, delicious food, and cozy open fires. The steak was outstanding, especially considering the affordable price for what is typically expected of a sirloin. The gammon was equally impressive. When they asked if I wanted two side dishes, I declined as I had already ordered enough for the kids. Overall, a fantastic experience! Highly recommended.
Fantastic food in a beautiful spot. Recommend booking as a very popular place. Will definitely come back. Had the mussels with chips and could not eat more as it was perfect for a lunch. Very high quality produce and the staff are amazing. Réservez une table maintenant
