This is the second time I 've had to give an establishment lower than four stars. I want to be fair here. If I don 't like a restaurant, I just don 't review it usually. To be fair to Cecil and Lime the Lamb Chops and Caesar Salad were excellent, but that is where the flattery stops and I had to really think before judging.I went on a Saturday night for a date after a Candle Light Orchestra concert. We called and the receptionist was very friendly when taking the reservation. Upon arriving the outdoor and indoor decor did not match the prices that were being charged. We ate at Cecil Lime last evening for our Christmas Celebration with close friends. We have always loved the food in the past and left not much more than the bone from our Tomahawk Ribeyes.This year things have changed and we as a group have decided we won’t be back. For 2 people who had an appetizer, salad, ribeye and 1 other side item; drinking only water our bill was $111 with gratuity $20 and tax came to $141. An expensive dinner without drinks, but worth it in the past. Last night however was a huge difference for us.The ribeye was not the Tomahawk, but that was fine. The part that made the decision not to return is the quality of meat we got. At least a fourth of my ribeye was un-chewa...
I had a wonderful dining experience at this fantastic restaurant, conveniently located near Wittenberg University where I was working. My companion and I enjoyed delicious cocktails at the bar before being seated. Our bartender, who also served us, was friendly and made outstanding drinks. For starters, we had French onion soup. I opted for the ribeye with garlic scape pesto, while my companion chose a variety of sides including au gratin potatoes, asparagus, wedge salad, and cucumber onion. Everything was excellent. Overall, we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Ate there on an Tuesday evening in their garden room. The food itself was great. The filet was perfectly cooked. The hostess was very nice and gave us our pick of seating. It was a nice and quiet dinner until a guest guitarist came and was disproportionately loud for the given atmosphere. For a $60 steak though, i really do expect high quality everything , and the silverware and steak knives were very cheap. Very small portions.

It was Grandma birthday one of my family members picked the place. Came in sit down ordered our food it took two hours then it was cold by time we was done everyone around us was gone like they purposely didn't serve us until most of everyone was gone then had the nerve to take a tip. The meal was delicious. I ordered the lamb chops and my wife had the rib eye. The only issue was the price. I couldn't believe that a 12 oz steak cost $28 and didn't come with any sides. Even a baked potato was extra. I wouldn't return because of the high prices. However, the food was cooked perfectly and tasted great, so I'll give them 4 stars. My advice would be to offer more value for the price.
We visited this restaurant a few weeks ago to celebrate my birthday. We were disappointed with both the food and atmosphere. Our steaks were tough and the overall meal left us unimpressed, especially considering the high price of almost $200 for just two people. We are unlikely to return in the future.
Went here for Easter dinner. I highly recommend CnL. Had onion soup, Cesar salad and Black n Blue ribeye. 7 layer chocolate cake.It's been a long time since we had such a perfect dining experience.Thank you so much!!! ?
